Is anyone making fiberglass swim steps?

So I’m selling my float and picking up another. I really like the fiberglass swim steps on my departing boat and the new boat has teak steps that I’d like to replace.

Is there anyone out there still making these? Clearly for a jet böte!

No real fiberglass working experience personally but would it be a pain in the ass for you to just splash them and make a pair for the new boat that are identical to what you already like? I’m sure you could get a shop to gelcoat them to match the new one and then slap some seadek type material on the flat surface.

I asked Nordic / Hallet for a set for my Vector and they saidthey didnt have molds for the old steps. I wojuld like to get a set as well.

Carrera Boats is telling me they can make them. Ballpark estimate is 1k.

UPDATE:
The guy over at Carrera just sent me a picture of the mold. They have them with and without the Carrera logo for anybody who may be interested.

Yep, it’s a lot of scratch...to me at least.

But I guess that’s the price we pay if they’re building a one off set and you’re not buying the boat that attaches to the swim steps.

One other thing you can try and do is get a group sell maybe if they get a bunch they might save you guys some money?

If someone has a step I would be willing to make a mold off it as I too need a pair. The deal i would make is this ,supply part and shipping both ways, i will cover mold Cost to fab mold ,you pay for material cost (approx 150.00) and you will get a pair , i keep mold. Pretty fair deal ? And yes I know what Im doing. Also I am only interested in a smooth top one like your first pic.

Eddie Marine Swim Steps

14x28 with 12 degree brackets. I originally had them polished with clear PC and my exhaust melted the clear off so I tried to do a high temp chrome cerakote and from the metal being contaminated it didn’t turn out right. Clear and chrome PC and cerakote don’t turn out right once the metal is...
