It’s been a good run...

Bo wasn’t able to go to the bathroom this weekend. Thinking he was just backed up, we fed him multiple cans of pumpkin without much results.
Our vet had a cancellation this morning at 8, so we were there first thing. Got some x rays and it didn’t look good, mass in his rectum, that spread to lymph node. Went to a specialist for a cat scan and got the same prognosis. They would have to break his pelvis to get all the cancer.
We brought him home this afternoon and made the appointment to have our vet come to the house Wednesday.
Girls came over for their normal Monday night family dinner...knowing what was going to happen. Shared a bunch of pics and a lot of great memories.
He is the best dog I have ever had...really a true sheepdog personality. I will share some pics over the next day or so but right now we are on the couch and I am killing some bourbon.

We become so attached and they are so attached to us. We're always together and there for each other.

We get so much joy from them which makes the pain of their passing a heavy blow and very tough to deal with. Their/our beds are empty, the routines are no more and they're no longer following us around, watching what we're doing always looking for us to give them some treats.

Our kids have been out of the house for years; our dog is more than our pet. I see her aging before my eyes and I fear her time is coming.
