Not sure how I pulled a PR out of a low impact ride but I’ll take it!

Seems like this thread is loosing steam. Who’s still putting in the work?

Me!

I'm in week 4 of 5 of the 'Build Your Power Zones' program on Peloton. I can feel the gains for sure and am looking forward to re-taking the FTP test at the end of next week 👍 They suggest rest days between the classes, but I'm just not built that way, so I've been hitting other other classes between.

Ive been pretty consistent as well but being out here in Havasu and not having the peloton here has sucked for my cardio. I have been hitting the gym and running a little but I get so bored on the treadmill. Ive been weight training 4 days a week circuit style so I'm getting a little cardio! Glad to see the rest of you keeping it up. I think everyone in here sees it as a lifestyle rather than a means to an end!

Hit a PR of 200 KJ on a 30 min ride last week only to look at my cousin's ride and see 456... lol a lot of work still to do but I'm starting to work in some circuit training with the peloton and 5X5

Got in a solid back workout today. My wife is on a tear. She took today off. Guessing to give us a chance. New family contest is 7/5 thru Labor Day 9/6.

Thats awesome! I signed up for that same 5 week program and did an FTP test today. I actually did better than I thought I would. Thanks everyone for keeping the posts going!

Nice PR on your first ride back!!

Thanks! Was dragging ass throughout I stopped pedaling for like two seconds on a hill climb. Lol. I could not believe I got to a PR by one point.

I bought a Peloton last week and it was delivered on Tuesday night. I figured since I have two young kids at home, one on the way, trying to get out to mountain bike for a few hours a week is tough. So far, I'm really liking this and I'm looking forward to trying to weight workouts. I just did a 20 min HIIT ride with Olivia and I can't believe how much is worked me over.

Congrats! I dig the Pelaton. The outdoor running is great too.

Olivia isn't human, she is a tiny ninja assassin robot 😆 She is consistently tough for sure. Some of the other instructors have "tells" that indicate how tough the class is going to be. If Robin Arzon is wearing yellow, look out legs. Also, the higher Kendall Toole's hair is, the harder the class.

View attachment 1058485 This one hurt! 47 miles on my 47th bday.

I'd need a stretcher or another 2-3 hours to do that. You're a machine!

I once tackled 35 miles with 4500 ft. elevation gain in CHWP. I had leg cramps somewhere around 25 miles from all the climbing and had put my tail between my legs and walk (limp 5 miles) out of there.

Hahaha! That’s funny! I did her EDM 20 minute ride as my first one and it got me. But nothing compared to Olivia. Most of my buddies were recommending trainers, mainly based off appearance and less about quality of workout lol

Following the longest layoff in recent memory.. Just finished my 4th straight day of workouts. Hit legs and arms today. Rest tomorrow and then back to work.
PS. Damn I’m sore.

Has anyone with a Peloton done some of the training courses/programs for weight lifting? I saw that Olivia/Matt have a 6 week, 2 days a week class and I was curious if it was worth it.

I gave up drinking until the end of the year.

Fortunately, that was last night.

Same ride, 1 year difference. I should have done this on a day when I wasn't sore from glutes and legs on Monday. Nonetheless, it's good to see the improvement.

Hope everyone else is still getting the work in as well 👍

I was in a walking boot for two weeks now I get to go see a foot specialist. My ankle swelled up after a 3 mile canyon run followed by a 20 minute peloton recovery ride. I didn’t twist my ankle on anything and have no idea what happened. Woke up in the middle of the night like I broke something. My ankle was the Size of a softball by morning.

Went to urgent care in the morning and took x-rays. Nothing broken or torn. She Found some bone spurs on my heel and some weird coloring on the x-ray. Like I have bone spurs right where my ankle pivots. She asked if I injured it before, I was like ya, I had a bad sprain that put me in a soft cast for a month. That was 20 years ago when I was an athlete. She said I may have reinsured it again. I didn’t do anything for another few weeks, it hurt to walk even.WTF?! getting old sucks…

I can only make it a mile or so before that ankle gets really sore. In specific spots too.

The weight of the peloton makes it hurt where I can’t pedal hard with the drag/weight on my foot by being clipped in. It sucks. I’m taking it easy and watching what I eat closely… I was on a great pace and it’s tough to not push hard like I want. 😞

Good job! Progress = motivation. :)

Sometimes old injuries come back to haunt us. Hopefully being sidelined is only temporary. Can you ride a regular bike or mtn bike that you don't have to clip in to? The longer you're out the harder it is to get it back. I'm sure you know that.... Maybe the peloton can be fitted with platform pedals?
