Just a few: Ya, I do Bottoms! and 'Injection is nice but I'd rather be Blown'! The motor is destined for the black Eliminator, a 1971 Bob Leach creation.
Race in circles & We call ourselves, "Outlaw Nostalgic Circle Boats"....and our short 3/4 mile ovals keep the speeds down but the side by side action 'Biiiittcccccchinnnnnnnn and pulse intensifyin!
appologys if ya have seen these before, I'll stop when the brown truck arrives!
The capsule boat is from Seattle and still holds our current course record at Moses Lake, Wa. at 78 mph average? Kip correct me if I am wrong. Sweet Caroline ran 77 the year before.
We currently run under American Outboard Federation rules with 4 classes of flats. Currently, over 64 different racers have enjoyed mashing the gas and turning left these last 11 years!
Circle runner Sanger
Drag runner Sanger
E39 Marlin and E66R Go For Broke Lavey (best E racing anywhere)
Jerk saw 92! Loser!
Jones 327 from Seattle incredibly clean boat way to fun to race against this
Former Motorcycle racer! Ya otta change that 22 gear dude!
Waites Lake:
Last shot shows the gold brown sanger sitting next to the fastest boat there; Rich B. orange E69 Hallet with 351 FORD power, 29 gear, 6700rpm! Engine by Drew Marine! Drews' boat is that beautiful black and blue 18'3" Sanger 4 seater running Amateur Flat class with pace boat. That original boat still had his Ford hardware that was installed 35 years prior for a customer in Arizona!
last note, there were literaly dozens of former v-drivers wandering around that day waiting for the flats to roar from the dock and who had serious interest in finding or duplicating their flats from yesteryear.
One fella I met had a color photo of his last Sanger he built in 1970 showing all who might know of its fate. I confirmed to him the current owner was just 10 miles down the road and his boat was resting in storage at his daughters house! He was grinning widely when he left for that town!
It's an epidemic! Of epic proportions!
Oh ya, and that boat is owned by the SK27 boat racer! the extra unraced K28....
Does Bob lurk here? Bob, we do it for the fun of it, few care who wins or wants to be a professional!
This is the Red Hondo pictured above giving rides, that most of us do, to a reporter from Spokane who happened upon our race at Banks Lake, near Coulee Dam Wa.
Check out his knees bangin on the dash and crashing through the storm driven white capped lake! The end shows Steve chasing the Sweet Caroline Lavey also giving rides in Osborn Bay!!!! Tach said 7000 with 15 gear!
Dave, Does that seem slow or OMG? About mid 90s in the straight and 60 in the turns I would guess.
Jerry can sell you a video of that event, (he was there) entitled 'Nosties' where those boats ran a bracket style event with 4 classes. George Nordling, in his Lavey (was current points leader) rolled violently while chasing that very same boat that set our record. He then retired from boat racing for the second time. Remember, short course 3 pin turns.
Thank you all for your interest, we love it! Obviously.
