Great event today at the Anaheim Gardenwalk. This event was a fundraiser for military heroes and their families served by the Infinite Hero Foundation.

Attending were many stars of drag racing as well as Aggie Agajanian and 100 year old Ed Iskendarian. Here's a few of my pics from the day.

Jack and his son upon arriving.

I met Jack after he left his business card in my Chevelle years ago at the Street machine Nationals. He needed my car as an aid in restoring his El Co back to street duty.

I used to hang out and work out with Jack when he lived in Mission Hills, CA (San Fernando Valley). I talk with him quite often and he is doing well being back to being an elevator repairman or as he calls it a vertical transportation specialist.

I wish I could have gone to this event but tough being on portable oxygen and only having one spare battery.

Great pictures and thanks for sharing.

That's cool Richey! He's a great guy and I wouldn't be surprised if he lands another ride at some point. He did say repeating this event next year was a possibility.
I hope you feel better. 👍

Thanks Jerry, really nice photos.

Thanks Richard!

Yeah, it was a fun day! He said he only needs 3 million to get back in a fuel car. :)

Nice photos, especially those of the gassers and FEDs.

It looks like the paint on some of the cars is six feet deep. Modern paint systems along with sanding and polishing of the clear coat has raised the bar to stratospheric levels. Chrome plating done to perfection is also a feature on many of the cars.

Thanks for sharing your day. It's always an honor to meet the titans of the racing world. While working in IndyCar, I was fortunate to meet giants of the game.

Drivers included Parnelli Jones, Rodger Ward, A.J. Foyt, Rick Mears, Al Unser, and many others, along with mechanical geniuses like George Bignotti, Smokey Yunick, and A.J. Watson. They were all gracious to share a little time with me, and I was able to hear their stories of triumph and adversity.

Yes, he is a great guy and really cares about the veterans. I will definitely go if he has this event again. I actually sent him a text today and told him I saw the pictures on line. He thanked you for showing the pictures.

I found him a ride for next year. Unfortunately, it's a cut in both pay and prestige. lol

great pics, we were there as well with our FED. Isky has known my old man since he was born and he was kind enough to take a pic with my son who is 1 (isky is 100) and my dad and daughter. My girl also got to sit in the TAF that was there.

Jack is a super stand up guy, I got my super comp license from him when he taught at Frank Holly’s. Then when I got my S/C dragster, I would pit beside him at Palmdale when he had the blackbird. He had the weather station and would help me dial in the computer in my car throughout the day. Always so helpful too others, the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. A cancer survivor, all around great human.

yes sir, thank you. we have that one and yeakel car. both owned by my grandfather in the 60's and both original chassis. the checker board car next to it is my dads brother in law, that was the car he owned / drove back the day. cool side note for this one, my old man and i built that body in our garage, the whole body is .060 aluminum and the paint has 9 pounds of metal flake and 3.5 gallons of clear on it.

I met Jack once at the Winter Nationals when they were featuring car clubs and featured the Road Kings. My grandpa had all kinds of stories about him. My grandpa loved Fast Jack. Now that my brother is an elevator mechanic as well, he is constantly keeping an eye out for him, Just kind of a cool thing. He is one hell of a guy.

Wasn't it him that took TBI's dad's ashes on a record breaking run a few years ago?
