JR on the holy grail of Gen 1 of modern MX bikes. Single cylinder, twin exhaust ports, unrivaled handling, big brakes for the time . . . In pristene condition, that is a $8-10K bike. And look at the technique: eyes far down the road, elbows up, weight all the way forward, likely even keeping his inside leg on the footpeg.

He was a “natural” rider before anyone knew what natural rider was.

Remember seeing him and Roger at Saddleback Park in the early 70’s . It still amazes me that those guys could ride so fast given limited suspension and heavy bikes. A lot of great memories.. RIP
