In Sand Hollow you need to take your kids out to the Flintstone house.

I’m really liking Sand Hollow and would like to plan a UTV trip here at some point in the near future. Not sure what the weather is like but it’s nice out right now! Gonna talk to some of my friends and see who’s in.

Even at home if I attached a hose to those brass fittings it was two pairs of Channel locks to get them off.. I figured if I kept going that way I’m gonna eventually break one so I put hose quick disconnects on all of them..

Mated that with a collapsible hose from Walmart that is 50’ but takes up zero space abd even has its own little hose reel.

Total cost I think was 27.00

one of the campgrounds has a group site for apx 10 rigs. We were planning a trip in October but kids school and sports caused us to back out.

I have seen someone actually tie all 3 fills together with ball valves on each so you only ever have to hook up 1 hose and throw ball valves wherever needed. Seemed pretty slick.

Found it

if anything comes up or you need any southern Utah info let me know, Sand Hollow is OK for off road (SXS) but there is A LOT MORE in SW Utah than Sand Hollow

Duck Creek, Markagunt trail system is top notch sxs riding 👌

Nice Dave!

Road trips are awesome. I just got back from a 10 day trip from phoenix to Moab, salt lake, Idaho Falls and then to Florence Montana. Lake Powell on the way back. Best times.

Because of the pressure? On our boat if the hose is plugged in we will turn the hose off, run a faucet and then undo the hose. Relieves the pressure and loosens the hose. Never thought of the quick connect.

Great times! Is there a smell from the back seats like Clark smelled? :p Seriously, how fast does the gas gauge needle fall in one of those?

Yea.. Cancelled the trip.. No rental cars and I don't want to sit in my in Laws house nor at my moms... We will go maybe in July. We are bound for Dillon/Bozeman/Missoula Wednesday morning.
We leave for the big island tomorrow morning for 9 days. We were booking right on the front edge of the rush. VRBO availability dropped 25% - down to sub 3% in 6 hours when we booked. I just hope they actually have our 4dr jeep when we get there.

My 5 year old has been cranked to 11 for the last week over this trip.

Going to be exciting.

So just learned the next park we are staying in requires 30 amp.. and I need an adaptor. Turns out Home Depot supposedly sells them? Who knew!

Second thing I learned.. people drive aggressively in salt lake and surrounding areas.. I’m talking like Bay Area / Phoenix asshole style driving.. much much worse than LA / San Diego asshole style driving. Lol

We get high 7’s low 8’s on the road. 100 gallon fuel tank so does not fall real quick. Normally a whole day of traveling

Popping into these tiny ass parking lots with a 55’ish rig isn’t that easy.. but much better than towing my enclosed!

Stopped at CVS and now Home Depot

The last Walmart didn’t have it.. Stacys walking back empty handed so we might hit that. Campgro Bud closes pretty quick, we might end up in the Walmart parking lot. Lol

I have Never paid $325 for gas at one time. :p I am sure tears would runs down my cheeks after $100.:p Honestly though I would love to go cross country in one. Lot more experiences than an airplane.

When we are on the road it’s normally 200-250 a day for fuel. This trip we have broke it down to 4-6 hours driving a day and a week stop so fuel bill will be more spread out. Left Florida end of May and will be back in October

the 30amp to 50amp is one of the hardest to find.
call campground and see if they carry it, if not order online via Walmart for an in-store pickup in next town.

This adaptor should of been on you list of required equipment for traveling :)

Really enjoying the posts about your trip. This trip will remain with your kids forever. There’s a good RV series on YouTube called Keep Your Daydream. An AZ couple about your ages with kid(s) from Flagstaff. Lots of good info and suggestions as they travel to many interesting destinations. Straight forward, they report the good and the not so good.

Get two of those 30 to 50 amp adapters. When you need it, it’s like having a spare roll of TP.
