Well there is always that moment when you lose the trust of one of your kids.. lol. Pretty sure my youngest isn’t gonna believe anything I say anymore because I told her it wouldn’t be scary.

She had quite the death grip. Lol

Even at home if I attached a hose to those brass fittings it was two pairs of Channel locks to get them off.. I figured if I kept going that way I’m gonna eventually break one so I put hose quick disconnects on all of them..

Mated that with a collapsible hose from Walmart that is 50’ but takes up zero space abd even has its own little hose reel.

Total cost I think was 27.00

View attachment 1011182

Watch that hose the first few times you use it. I bought the same one and the fitting blew off the end within 1 minute of its first use.

So they have a place called pioneer viallage that is basically a mining town filled with old west museum quality things in each shop.. super bad ass for the adults

There is also peacocks roaming around everywhere and there was a Siberian tiger at the entrance (wtf? Lol).

Not sure if you're headed towards Kalispell Mt. and Glacier National Park. There is an great campground in Kalispell called Montana Base Camp owned by a very cool guy named Andy. No pull through's yet but big wide sites and lots of room to maneuver. 406 756 9999

@RiverDave Take the kids on the train, takes you through the "wild kingdom Zoo" There used to be a black leopard and camels.
You get board next to the Pirate ship aka Tidal Wave. also, if you want a freaky ride, get on the Wild Mouse.
One other tidbit, the wooden roller coaster at Lagoon is the 7th oldest roller coaster in the world if i remember correctly.
See you in a bit, off to pick up more supplies for the Johnson family vacation.

I'm honestly envious of your ability to do this Dave. We've done quite a few trips out of the country with our daughter, but never were able to enjoy the states like you are.

Me too, cant do this. Work will not allow it and school and everything else that gets in the way. Maybe my problem is that I need to focus more on making a trip like this happen somehow. I just dont have the staff to man the fort and handle things for 2 weeks.

time is the hardest part. Glad I made it work, but I had some late nights and little sleep for 50% of my trip,
when we did our 3 week trip. I was working at night after the kids were down and a few hours before everyone woke to keep the office moving. only a few areas in Yellowstone and around Grand Tetons with cell service, we always stopped in those spots to sync my office phone and e-mail.

Did this trip with my family a few years ago. To date it’s one of the best vacations we have here done.

The trick to Yellowstone or any national park for that matter is to get going early and beat the Tour busses. Also the best attractions are the ones that tour busses are not allowed into.

If you go see old faithful watch it from the hotel at the bar deck. 😉

Sand hollow is just a pit stop on our two week adventure.. we are hitting Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Yellowstone & ending up @wash11 farm on the way back.

we wanted to see Sand Hollow to possibly bringthe sxs back up this fall or winter

Dang it, you will be in Wyo/Yellowstone etc about a month before us!

Were leaving ABQ next Wed and boating LOTO for a few days, then up to Iowa to boat the mississippi, then thru mt rushmore, then up to Kalispell/Flathead lake to do glacier/etc, then down thru yellowstone (staying in Cody), then back thru colorado with the final stop in silverton. Taking a month to do it all, hopefully my kids have fun!

Maybe I should start a thread when we leave. Hmmmmm....

Traveling across the country with the family is such a great time. Did it as a kid and such an impact on myself. Did it with our kid and at 26 he said it had the greatest impact and opened up many opportunities for conversations through out his college and work life. It allowed him to have a point of reference into anyone’s life while in the US. Have a good couple of weeks. Roadside America is a great source of silly roadside attractions. THe wife nad kid said they hated them but will still laugh about then. 👍

Love those quick connect. So much easier to change sprinklers/nozzles. The sad think is that my wife can’t change them out no matter how often I show her. Oh well in the trash they went. 😢

You should absolutely start a thread!

I am thinking of adding a section just for motorhome / RV adventures so the members can see each other’s trips and learn from each other’s trips.

@Riverbound Yellowstone trip was inspirational..

I know we could all learn from @Go-Fly adventures and motorhome mods as well as @2FORCEFULL motorhome knowledge

Alright so where did we leave off.. @Terminal Velocity dropped off a ton of booze…. And then I did my best to drink it all with him. Lol. The Pacifico and Corona is gone.

Thank you so much James for going out of your way for us as well as your hospitality in your homeland! Great hanging out with you. I’m hoping to see some of your v drive projects online soon!

Just no more dudes like this.. lol

So last night we ended up hanging out with another set of campers and had a pretty good time. The kids put on a circus for us to enjoy, which started off with cartwheels and a few other tricks.. then ended up with mma wrestling matches.

Richard (neighbor camper) is really involved with his kids and wrestling / mma sports. It would not surprise me one but if we end up seeing his daughter on tv someday she was amazing!

Anyhow kids had a blast.. my kids have been hanging out with Jason @ Boom Bandits too much. Before the circus started they set up lighting. Lol

my son and I were walking back to the motorhome and dollars started floating out of the sky in front of him. He thought it was a miracle at first. Lol. Then came a cabelelas hat that fell out of the sky. Lol. He wanted to hang out there all day.

What a great birthday! I am so glad the kids are going to get to experience Yellowstone. It is an absolutely amazing place. I'm looking forward to getting to go again this summer, but we will be camping about 1.5 hours away for 6 weeks, so we plan to go a couple of times for day trips and get to actually do some hiking this time and skip the traditional tourist spots.

Hey RD, you might want to make a detour on your way back and go by
Flaming Gorge. Pretty big chunk of water you might like.
Flaming Gorge Reservoir is the largest reservoir in Wyoming, on the Green River, impounded behind the Flaming Gorge Dam. Construction on the dam began in 1958 and was completed in 1964. The reservoir stores 3,788,900 acre feet of water when measured at an elevation of 6,040 feet above sea-level. Wikipedia
Surface elevation: 6,040′
Length: 90.72 mi
Area: 65.66 mi²

Where are all the cars in this pic? How can you just pull up in a huge motorhome pulling a trailer and park right in front of the store you are going to? Where are the tweakers/homelss? What alternate universe is this?
