There is a fine, and often blurred, line between bravery and stupidity...most stupid things I have done have been a combination of the two.

I hope everyone was ok. Had to hurt like hell the next day.
I've actually been halfway to a jump on a quad or a dirt bike thinking "I'm brave" then halfway up the lip I'm like "you're an idiot!!! Insane at best!!"

I've been off of two wheels since my car accident and neck shattering...I've learned a quad helps keep me from wanting to try to be "Nitro Circus", and ending up on YouTube.

Al set a new record a couple weeks ago in Oregon. He is a true professional and a strong competitor in jumping competitions..... Prayers that he is okay

Maybe a dumb question but isn’t the motor in the rear, thus the CG as well? If true, what would cause the car to nose drive in the air?

One reason, Newton's 3rd law. All the energy stored in the suspension is released after the buggy leaves the ramp and causes the nose down pitch change in the air. It is my understanding that is why you see ramps that are very long and very shallow, so the suspension isn't loaded at takeoff.

That very smart Grasshopper.
Now set up another round.

Imagine how far he could jump with one of the new "Speed UTV" especially with the tuned up key.👍👍

I think the reason he is not more seriously injured is that it didn't come to a dead stop, It took a while for it bleed off some of the kinetic energy before it stopped.

My guess.....seeing he is nose down so early Id say his rear shock setting allowed for too
much droop hitting the ramp then sprung as he was leaving the ramp/hill. Maybe fronts were too juicy too. who knows.
