The boat was infused with helium and nitrogen, giving it a float quotient of .32. This allows the camper shell to support the weight.....

Or, it could be an optical illusion. ;)

Actually, the Ski Nautique has a special bottom that lifts the back end for a better wake. In this case, at about 65 mph, the truck will weigh about half normal...though the size of the driver's nutz will make up for the lifting properties of the bottom.:D Says the man with tongue firmly in cheek.

Engineers determined the 747 'carrying" the Space Shuttle, was actually a lighter take off weight at Take Off speed....
than it is "without" the shuttle on its back !

I just recently got back from a 7000 mile road trip in 7 days transporting two electric boats across country with a similar setup to this. People may think its crazy. I was a little skeptical about it at first but after driving it for awhile it wasn't that bad at all. A buddy of mines dad owns an electric boat company (Electracraft) based out of Ventura County that supplies boats to lakes that have certain restrictions. Some lakes include (Westlake Lake, Lake Sherwood, and Lake Las Vegas).

Here is our setup just prior to taking off.

Here we are in Lake Havasu filling up

The boats are actually laid up in Havasu at the Dominators facility. Runs are made out there a couple times a month to pick up the blank hulls where they are transported back to the shop in Ventura County to be rigged. Here's some of the blank hulls that we crossed paths with as we were filling up in Havasu.

We finally arrive to our first drop point in New York being Tuxedo Lake about 40 minutes north of New York City. A very affluential community with tons a history.

Heres the first boat after we dropped it off to the customer.

After we were done there we drove up to Maine where we were picking up a boat that Electracraft bought back from an old customer. We had to get a crane service to lift the boat that was currently on the roof onto the ground. Once that boat was on the ground, we lifted the boat that Electracraft bought onto the roof to be transported home.

Heres the crane lifting the boat off the roof

Once we were done securing the boat onto the roof, we were off to Wanatsink Lake in New York.

Heres the delivery of the second boat.

We're finally done with everything and begin our trek home. Got a ton of looks and strange questions about this setup driving across country. Everything worked out well without any issues.
