This site is my non boat porn..... frame off builds are fetching some serious $ .... as I bet you builders on here are aware.

Thats why I went as far as I did with mine. If someone has to have it, it will be big bucks. And they are popular right now.

I've always wanted a first gen k5. Almost bought several. I could never justify the asking price with the amount of work that needed to be done to make it a decent driver. They are either rusty Swiss cheese or 1980's bubba fuct asking 15k.

There was one in south OC that was all original in frost green with a 4 speed/350/Factrory AC that I should have bought back in 2005. That was my unicorn but I snoozed and lost out.

I like the color. It’s classic.

I don't hate it, just a good friend had a Black with a Black convertible top. Lifted and no matter where he went there was a crowd. The truck was Stunning. PLUS AC!!

It’s an awesome color for a classic off road vehicle. Same color came on my SS 350 69 Camaro but that car is going lemans blue.

the frost green would look great with some black wheels & a rack on top of the shell. A gen5 lt1 with a blower and a 5 speed trans. Fuk!!! I’m talking myself into it again

Just wanting to know who has one on here or has built one. I’m working on my second one my first one was when I was a kid. 20 something years later I got another one. My kids love it. I can’t wait till it cools down a little and we can take the top off. I’ll get some better pics this weekend View attachment 910780

Agreed.... I don't think you've taken much risk going all in on that build from what I see at auctions. Really strong demand presently for some reason. Man, 15 years ago not at all.... just the Broncos stayed highly desired.

LS3/4L80 is next year for me. I've sunk so much into suspension and structure this year I need to recover a bit first. Mine has a decet 383 now so it will work for this season.

How much are you in to the LS3?

Yeah, I'm in to it quit a bit. No turning back! Thats a similar set up I'm running. LS3 with a hot cam 495 horse 🐎, Atlas t-case and L70E tranny. Dynatrack HD 60's and Atlas springs with 4" bend.

Hoping to have it completed by next summer. Will see

Found a picture of my black Blazer, looked better with the top off, I'll see if I have any more pictures.
It had a 454 and was already lifted with

8 lug when I got it, drove great but was ugly. Did a cosmetic restoration black on black CST, working a/c. Late model 8 lug Ford wheels, those caps go right on. Sold it about 6 years too soon...

You guys are making me miss both of mine. Too long ago for phone pics. Both bone stock. 78 w/305 and 4 speed. Black top and dark red body. 91 w/350 and automatic. Dark blue top, light blue metallic body w dark blue below the chrome trim near the bottom. This one pulled our 21' with ease.

I love that crew cab. I want to find a long bed and chop it down to a short bed. Throw a Cummins/Allison combo with a nice 6” lift.

This one has a compound turbo 12 valve and a Allison.

Good thing you bought it. I’ve been thinking about it ever since they posted it for sale, but didn’t need another unfinished project in the garage. 😂
It runs, technically I could say it was finished.😊
The other half isn’t real happy about it but the dog likes it so it’s good in my book.

my first car, 79 k5. 400sbc in it.

i found a 4"lift in the recycler for 50 bucks and saved for some wheels and tires my junior year in high school.

newtires.jpg

senior year i did the body work myself and had a shop shoot some porsche guards red on it.

newtirespaint.jpg

with my first boat, a 90 Cole 20'ss. at this point i had built the 400 with dart heads, long rods, bigger cam, etc. made a ton of torque and broke the t350 trans several times street racing and being and idiot, also broke 3 ring and pinions 12bolt.

blazerboat.jpg

took it to glamis once with paddles

P1010115.JPG

this is pretty much how it looks today. i have been collecting parts to put it back together. i used the engine block for my sandrail years ago, i picked up another 400 block and its at the machine shop now getting bored and decked since i kept all the internals form the prior build. also got some 38"s and bigger lift to put on it along with 14bolt rear, t400 trans, doing a custom interior too.

I picked this up at the begging of the year. All stock. Not bad to cruise around town, but seriously rides like shit with the inverted leaf springs.

I need to fix the following:
-Window on Tail gate doesn't work
-AC doesn't blow cold
-Wiper fluid doesn't work
-12V adapter doesn't work

One day, I want put install a 4" Offroad Design suspension kit & Drop in a 5.3 LS with a 6L80E Tranny

I want her to feel super comfortable cruising to the river
