Wahweep main doesn’t open until this Saturday, so it will be a bit of a clown show on Friday for us @Nanu/Nanu

Water looks great at 25 feet higher than a few weeks back.

There are going to be some lost out drives and props on the island that is just starting to go under water just outside of stateline ramp.

Turbidity is definitely a bit high with the inflows

One if our best camp spots was just to the right of where your frame stops. There was a lagoon basically and we were just outside the no wake. It was a good time. We had a lot of friends stop by and say hi have a couple beers every day that trip as everyone had to go by our camp.

How many drives are gonna get wadded up on the rocks in those pics too @mesquito_creek. I know a lot of people try to straighten that stretch and it gets em. Kind of like to ones in warm creek you used to pass by before getting into to the main channel or the boulder field between face and last chance on the inside of the turn. Sheesh makes my toes tingle thinking about it.

Please post plenty of pics! Mapping out my week long trip there. Does anyone have a map of where to avoid so I don't take out a drive or worse?
Its to hard to map out im going off memory in the side coves. Stick to the middle of the main channel and you should be good. Theres some spots from padre bay going up lake in the middle of the channel you need to keep eyes out for but a good pair of polarized shades should help you see them.

Like tony said navionics is probably the best map with the most current up to date on changes.

The park service tries hard to mark the whales but they cant do them all. If you see milk jugs or 2 liter bottles floating thats also the peoples way of helping mark them. So its not trash.

Was the water to the concrete? That was not the case last April….

Yeah stateline main is almost open water wasnt far from the concrete at all. wahweap is open. Went on a short cruise yesterday and there was a 30+ foot cabin cruiser launching from wahweap. Water is coming up fast we are adjusting my in-laws house boat anchor lines twice a day. Havent even had to adjust them once a day in atleast 2 years. So thats been cool! Today we're gonna cruise up lake gonna be on the lookout for mr. @havasuhusker. So ill try to take some pics.

With these pics from last April, is it known if they removed the boiler plates and poured concrete for future use when level drops again (its not IF it drops again, its when).
I think everything is touching concrete as of now
Cant be 100% sure if wahweap is using boiler plates or not.

So yesterday was a good day. Went up lake and actually found mr @havasuhusker. Didnt get to beach with him as the beach we were looking at was crummy so we went into rock creek. Which was gorgeous as always. Havasu husker did roll in behind us but he didn't see us waving him down. We saw @mesquito_creek too but were running late getting back to camp so we didn't stop. But none the less boats ran great and the water up lake was pristine. Maytag straights were pretty vicious. Cant remember the last time the weather was so awesome on memorial day up here.

My brother was telling me about a paper he read written by a scientist looking at the impact large volcanic eruptions have on weather. It suggests that this year and next will be big water years due to the pacific islands eruption a year(?) ago. It draws some evidence from mount St Helen’s ereuption in 1980 causing the weather changes that brought on 1983 floods.

I’ll ask him for the link.

Apparently someone had a bad day in antelope marina. One of the really nice houseboats caught fire.

Bummer way to start boating season.

Please do! I love learning that kind of stuff. Makes total sense too when you think about how much material is thrown so high into the air. A major eruption HAS to effect global climates.

Your like might be cool but is it Powell cool? Free boat washing station. Haha wife and i had no clue it was for cleaning and vacuuming out your boat free of charge. We thought it was a diy decon rig for quagga mussels. Guess it kind of is in a way.

Where was that?
At the top of the stateline auxiliary. First one is by the dumpsters second one is before you leave the parking lot and head towards the concrete of the main stateline ramp.
