Lake Travis-Austin Texas trip with the family

We haven’t been able to get out to havasu this year with everything that’s going on and having a newborn. We are between house right now in havasu so everything is in storage and we really just don’t want to deal with it at the moment.

So the wife and I went to lake Travis is past weekend and rented a pontoon to check out the lake. We live in Houston and haven’t spent much time on lake Travis.

If you think the boat drivers are bad in havasu you have no idea. No way you can go faster then 40mph because no ones paying attention to where they are going and boat traffic is all
Over the place.

Here are some pictures from the weekend. Houses on the water are over the top and huge. Most boasts are pontoons, wakeboard boats or huge ocean cruisers. I saw one scarab that had twin motors.

We also went to look for a second boat. It’s Been hard to find any inventory To look at in person. Both of these boats were sold before we got there. But we think we know what we want when the time is right for the family. My wife gave me the ok when the youngest gets about 2 years old. So a year away from the happening.

Looking to relocate my business in Round Rock I was out at Lake Travis as well this weekend. Considering its only 40 min from where my office will be it will be nice to have a Lake/river option. I have never seen that many ocean boats on a lake that small. Did you make it by The Oasis on Lake Travis what a great place for drinks and food.

We just cruised the lake on the pontoon and never stopped for food or drinks. Looks like all the big marinas had stores and some had Resturant’s at them.

Tons of big sail boats too. My wife kept asking why ocean boats were in the lake. We saw a 60ft Viking on the water... never seen that in havasu.
