The water and finally back at it! It was worth the wait. I sold our 2001 224 Stoker in 2018 due to planning our wedding in June 2018 and a few inconsiderate friends that chose holidays to have their weddings on lol. Then I assumed we would take 2019 off due to trying to start a family and it went as planned. NOW it was OPEN GAME! I had been eyeing the Shockwave 26 cat for some time but just couldn’t pull the trigger on the money it would take to build one how I wanted. THEN, one with all the bells and whistles was listed by someone I had previously discussed their boat with. The wife is more than ecstatic as am I. We test drove in Lake Elsinore at 8:30 bright and early this morning. First time in a boat with a hoodie and socks that’s for sure. Here are a few photos including our baby girl who loved it as well once we got back to pick her up at Grandmas! She just can’t decide if she like the front or rear seat 😝 ! The open now on this is GINORMOUS which I love.

Now to figure out where to leave the toy hauler for the summer. Having taken 2 seasons off, anyone know the going rate at CrazyHorse or the Islander? I use to stay at C.H. Somewhat closer to the pool area, think D row, and was mid/high $300’s when we started around 2013/2014 then maybe $425/month plus utilities the season of 2017. Any ideas of today’s rate?

Thank you!

Has a 600 SCI with a Stage 3 Whipple and an XR. I’ll drive it like I drive the sandrail, easy out of the hole and try to keep the drive in the water!

Congratulations! I had my eye on that one...such a sweet boat. Sucks the guy across the street has his Christmas lights up past Valentines Day but every neighborhood has one of those.

Haha that’s in front of my parents house luckily. But I do think I too have one of those in my Redlands Neighborhood now that you mention it 🤔

congrats on the new ride.
Islander summer rental (5 month minimum) is 595 a month plus utilities. Not sure on availability. when I got my spot, they had very few summer rental spots left due to all the park models being built.

outside storage at the Islander is 75 a month and for additional $$, they can move trailer on and off a spot for weekly, daily use.

Congrats! Awesome boat, I love the room in the mid cuddy.

My buddy has that same combo in his 28' cat - Stage III 600 SCI with an XR from Teague. He also drives easy out of the hole, but he carries alot of passengers. He got 3 light seasons and 1 Lake Powell trip out of it before it blew the XR. My advice would be to have the drive pulled apart periodically and have the gears inspected, so you can catch it before a gear grenades. If your not running it to it's potential or carrying alot of weight, consider propping down for easier planing and less stress on the drive

Thank you. It’s all good I know life comes first. Doug made it out for a second set of eyes and ears. Throughout the day after the test drive I got 3 separate “damn I really like the way this thing rides!” Out of him.... then the “shit I shouldn’t have ever came along!” Haha let’s see where this goes!

see you guys out there!

That might be an option. It’s sure is nice to just have it in a set location though. I’ll see how this plays out. Thanks.

It had a 29P 4 blade on the test run. Planed instantly but ran out of prop just as fast at like 5,300 running maybe 75ish with 4 on board and I would say 1/3 fuel. I didn’t want to push to the 5,850 (I think) limit of the Whipple Upgrade because I was driving like I bought it. It was early and COLD so I’m sure that’s probably why it revved up so freely. There is another 30P 4 blade they are including but I’m sure the true test will be in the Havasu heat. Plus I’ll need some seat time as well.

Yea it probably jumps on plane real easy with that prop. That's good though, probably a good combo for heavy loads in summer months
My friends boat is running a 32p Bravo, with a 1.5 gear ratio. Now that I think of it, I think his kit is a Stave IV as it has a smaller pulley and the bigger camshaft kit installed too. Either way, lots of power that can grenade a bravo!
