I have been working for over 24 years to get this truck and it is finally here. I also included some pics of my previous 2005 that has been very good to me. I only get to do a LAM thread about once every 15 years when it comes to trucks. lol

Going to need to order a new RD SUX sticker. Just need advice where to put it? Back window in white or rear bumper in black?

I have the same set up. You're going to love it. I'm pulling 18k and if I get to hot footed I can run the tranny temp up on hot days. When running the AC and pulling a long grade, I scroll down and watch all the temps so they don't get to high.

Thank you all! With the 411 rear end it will pull ALOT. That fifth wheel behind it in the photo is my home. 40' and weighs about 19k. Looking forward to towing it. I did with the 05 2500 but that was just to get it to home. I would never travel with it in the 05.

The new one 2000rpm is 70mph roughly and 2200rpm is 80mph roughly on stock tires. I may when the stock tires wear out go up a couple sizes. Nothing crazy just a little better fuel mileage and better look. My 05 I went from 265's to 285's both load range E and loved the 285 look. The best RPM for these motors is 1800-2200rpm for both speed and fuel mileage. This is my 4th Cummins and by far the fanciest truck, strongest engine/trans I have ever had.

Of the big 3 it’s the only one that’s easy to look at.
You’re going to love it.

LOL ya I don't understand what they are thinking with the front ends of some of the new trucks. To each is own though. I am cummins through and through so even if they threw that motor in a pinto I would drive it!! lol

I just drove by the Dodge dealership thinking to my self I should stop in and take a look. Only thing I can’t get past is I daily drive a diesel f-250 abd the only use for this truck would be towing our 5th wheel every couple years. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Congrats! I bought the same exact truck w/o the silver, but man that looks good! Depends on where you live, but those Nexen tires suck! I drove mine from the dealer to the tire shop...

So far yes one of my neighbors test drove it last night and was extremely impressed. I am extremely thorough with maintenance and upkeep.

I told him what I was going to list it for and my bottom dollar (neighbor deal) and I think he is going to take it.

During test drive I told him give her some fuel and we were flying low before you knew it and he was grinning from ear to ear and he is an older gentleman. I think I enjoyed those few moments more then him lol.

Thank you. I live at lake pleasant in Peoria which is north west of Phoenix. I am not a fan of those tires but I will run them as long as they look good then I am going to the true and tested Goodyear's or Michelin's. I only commute about 36 miles round trip four days a week and its all highway. I also drive like an old man. lol

I think that's the first time I have seen a Dodge with the side mirrors folded in.

You got that many miles on a 2016 Ram CTD?

I may need to look at Ram again...after my 3rd gen, I thought their quality went to shit (nice interiors tho)

Bob Leach has an 06 that was 4 something before someone had to actually get in the engine.
The usual trans issues, injectors, etc.

Sold 05 Dodge 2500 last night to first neighbor to look at it. Never had any issues except transmission rebuild but that was to be expected. Had 269k on it.
Had 269 when the original trans failed?
Mine shit the bed at 40 something, lol.
Dodge paid for it:)

What’s a real trip to think about here.
Before I bought the Ram in 05 I had an F350 with a gas 460

@mitch6601 new Ram makes 100hp and 390lb/ft more torque than my 05 rated at 300/610

So, Mitch’s torque is equal to my 5.9 AND! the 460 in my last truck...combined. Lol.

If I recall correctly I had the HO in my 05 and I was under the understanding that it was 325 hp and 610 torque. I bet you miss that 460!! That is a great motor for a gasser!!

A retired 20 year dodge transmission mechanic. However he is paralyzed now from neck down as he took his neon to get some parts and got rear ended then T boned. If he had been in his dually he would have walked away that day without any serious injury. Very sad deal.

I miss my 05 already. Bittersweet to see it drive away as she served me well for 15 years. Don’t get me wrong I ABSOLUTELY FUCKING LOVE MY NEW TRUCK! I’m still trying to figure new one out and inspect it too to bottom front to back. I do most of the maintenance myself and way ahead of what ram wants. So I have to learn new truck quickly:)

Sounds like it is time for a rebuild or at least get bands adjusted and fluid and filter changed. But I am not a mechanic.

Nice to have that extra gitty up and go when you're not towing but still want it.

Had some basics done last year.
Had some sort of sensor or sensor fail that’s up inside the pan.
Fluid, filter, gasket, electronics that failed, not quite $400.
Had a shifting issue later on, back shifting, occasional freewheeling/rapid rpm rise.
Feared the end was near.
Some internet searching lead me to checking all the grounds and sure as shit, loose ground cable on one of the batteries, the one that grounds to the block.

Tightened it up and driove. No change. Drove a little more and all is well in Ram land again.

I picked up this little Gem a week ago.

Its 2001 2500 Cummins 4x4 with a short bed

I bought just to tow the toys and Lowes/ Tractor Supply runs.

My son is in the pic, we just left Barstow, Slash X.. great day for a desert ride.

Just did a 1000 mile oil change on mine. Get the oil filter plug for sure. You don’t spill a drop of oil pulling the filter out of the wheel well. I threw a larger diameter Fumoto on the pan as well. I can say with a deep pan that oil still splashed everywhere. This should make it much cleaner.
