Hey guys- so we are rolling through Vegas on our way home from our Powell trip. We are going to have Ryan with us and want to go out for a somewhat nice dinner BUT with a view.

I've been on yelp and other review sites and alot are recommending some pretty spendy and fancy places. I was hoping someone could recommend a place that would be kid friendly or at least not look down upon bringing a kid and a cool view.

Any?

Also TPC recommends Dupars for breakfast. I'd like to hit that up on our way back to Parker but do they have boat parking??

Thnx:thumbsup

Be careful where you park your car or truck with your stuff in it That town has a lot of smash and grab !!!!

i think dupars is at the golden gate, which is the corner of main and fremont, and no place to park your boat, also i would not leave a boat in that area unattended, where you would be able to park it, to far away..

what kind of view are you looking for? when dining? you would have your boat with going to dinner, correct?

Just go to MilkMoney's penthouse. He's at the top of one of those hotels. Im sure he can call down and have your boat valet parked for you.

So we are leaving the truck and boat at Mandalay were we are staying two nights. We get in the first night late b/c we are leaving Wahweap and rolling in around 11:00. Staying the next day and night. So when we go to dinner we will cab it.

I just thought it would be cool to have dinner and see the strip.

Maybe we will ixna Dupar's. Just thought we'd get a yummy breakfast before heading to Parker to drop the boat off.

T-Minus 3 day until our 12 day's of fun in the sun:champagne:s

WishI is right, I would not leave my truck and boat with gear in it at any of the down town casino's or for that matter any other casino's. NO where really safe to park your rig and keep everything safe if out of view.

Good luck, stay safe.

They do not report this to the general public but there have been many vehicles and Uhaul's broken into and even stolen from back there. Make sure to take anything of value out with you if staying the night.

Thanks for the advice. Our boat is nothing to look at. It's a 19ft Campbell outboard. But we will have a bunch of crap in the Suburban. hmmm

As we all know, if it will bring $5, they will steal it! Sad to say, but true these days. :(

Right? So I was just reading this thread to RVRDAD and he asked is there anywhere to park the burb and boat that has secured parking. Cuz we actually do have alot of crap that would suck to replace.

Again mucho thanks for the advice

Steak, seafood type deal. Not worried about $$$. We have done 5 star restaurants many o times (pre kiddo) but don't want to do that with Ry.

Not b/c he is not well mannered but I know from experience that if it a romantic/5 star restaurant kid's are frowned upon. Which I agree.

I hate when people bring babies into real nice restaurants. Ugg

I'm now thinking about having a yummy dinner somewhere and then taking in the views. Bellagio fountains etc..

Were gonna be super tired from houseboating.. so wanna have an early din din and see a couple views and hit the hey.

edit: reason why I ask about the view is b/c Ry is for whatever reason obsessed with 'big cities' He is dying to go to NYC. So that's the reason for wanting to see the view.

Ya that was one of the spendy one's.

And when I say spendy/stuffy deal. Not for the three of us.

It's hard going to Vegas with a kid.

We are looking forward to going to the wave pool/ lazy river and having a good dinner.

Thnx again for the input.

Bummer if the food sucks now especially because it is expensive. Been years but when I went there it was fantastic. Lobster bisque was delicious and the seared Ahi is the best I've had to date. And yeah the rotating view is ridonculous.

Hash House a GoGo for breaksfast then. There is one off strip but one inside the Imperial Palace. Order the Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict. You only need one though. It will feed two of you.

Alrighty will do stratosphere! Kinna looking forward to taking in the sights. Usually Vegas is adults only and it's full throttle party mode.
My other thought was voodoo lounge they have that patio but I think its part of the bar so that's a no go

Olives at Beelagio is very good and you can sit lakeside and watch the fountains. Big City views from Mix$$$ at The Hotel, Stratosphere(Dont eat there, just go up to the top and enjoy the view, or maybe do the rides. Eiffle Tower Restaurant is good as well but pricey, great views.

Stratosphere views are off the hook. I stayed there a couple years back for NHRA, because several of the racers were there. Word of advice, don't go up there if you are liquored up, I almost chucked.:p

2nd or 3rd floor of the Margaritaville restaurant would be cool. We just had dinner on the 2nd floor but did not know there was a 3rd floor. Our view was nice. Right across from Ceasars and Bellagio. Take the tram from MB to Excaliber, then cross and walk to Aria and catch the one to Caesars. Or take a cab :)

Best Breakfast in my opinion is the Peppermill.

http://www.peppermilllasvegas.com/#home

Great food, huge servings and regular prices. This is old school Vegas at its best, on the strip next to Wynn.

Check out the bar in the back, they shot a scene there next to the fireplace in the movie "Casino"

DITTO!!!! We always eat there Sunday morning on the way out. I recommend the chorizo and eggs. It's definitely a "sleeper".

SW Steahouse at the WYNN. There is a patio right on the WYNN lake, and an amazing animation show like nothing you will ever see is the view. Food is the best in VEgas especially the steak, get extra "pretzel bread" if you are not worried about carbs.
