Here it is, the last Schiada restored by Don at Pat's Fiberglass before the doors closed. Bad news that Don health is not good enough to continue his expert craft in fiberglass work, but I am lucky to get my boat in and restored after an outer stringer came loose from years of abuse. The floor and stringers needed repair and replacement. Don did a excellent job doing the repairs and complete gelcoat. I will post the pictures of the carnage and the finished product. Now the next step is getting it back together and in the water.

Pat did my brothers Schiada a few years ago.

@tony Damn that thing is beautiful! Don is an incredibly talented craftsman. I had a slot in his schedule for February. When the date got close I called and his wife told me of his illness and that they were closing the shop. Hoping the best for him...

Was this being rigged at Concept? IIRC Dave teased us with some pics last year. Any update?

It was at Johns shop but I think it's at Brummett's now being finished up? As far as the cost of the re gel i'm not sure sorry.

Beautiful, what $$ did he get for full re-do like that?

Don, while he was trying to talk me out of restoring one of these old boats, said to expect $25-30,000 for a complete like this one.

Rick from islander did a complete re-gel on my 24 including blueprinting the bottom and it was a little over 18k but that was a few years ago.

The boat is at Mike King's shop here in Havasu now. I just saw it 2 weeks ago.

I sure hope some of these talented employees continue with this craft. This is literally a dying art and something that can't be taught overnight. Hopefully some will remain in SoCal, but who knows.....
