The three black lines on school buses serve a purpose. The bottom line is the floor of the bus. The middle line is the seat line. The top black line is the top of the seats. These lines of the bus are reinforced, but they also let firefighters know where to cut in case of an accident.

Never thought about it other than a design/decorative aspect. Very interesting and thanks for posting.

All this time, I thought they were racing stripes. Hers another little factoid. Ever notice that roof is always rounded and heavily reinforced? That’s so they will not be stuck upside down in case of a rollover or be crushed..

Where did you hear about this? To me it's almost more interesting that I ALSO heard about this this week. It was mentioned on the 102.7 Coyote Country morning show either yesterday or Tuesday this week.

Do they have seatbelts on them now? We certainly didnt back in my day and you hit the right bump and I grabbed the roof on multiple occasions! I swear those seats are made of a trampoline [emoji23] !

Funny how you can be cited for not having a kid buckled up in your car.

But the thing the .gov uses to transport kids has no seatbelts, or really any safety equipment.

Cars have padded dashes.
School buses have metal seatbacks for you kid to slam into.

Well just as I thought after initially reading this thread, I now look at schools buses and try line up the lines. I have to say, I dont think this applies to most buses that I see. Maybe a certain manufacturer but definitely not a standard.

That was the whole reason to sit in the back seats! 😜

So that’s nice Rich.

But where is the picture where they stuffed a blower motor in the bus? ;)

Not Facebook..But... 🤷‍♂️ :)

Oh, well that seals the deal. Fat guys on YouTube are straight up knowledgeable and only deal in facts. When he said the corner of the rail was the strongest part of the bus, that right there tells you the man knows his shit. I'm convinced.
