Perfect day for a boat ride
I'm actively trying to convince my wife to abandon the boating program here and setting up something in S. Florida. We would boat less, but I think the epic boating scene there would make up for it.
I can tell you - you would not boat less!
My buddy had a condo (250k) with a 300 a month HOA and a slip fee of $60 a month for a 40ft boat 100 yards from his front door. He can boat every day or take the boat to dinner etc - I’m going crazy with how affordable this is for the most epic boating any place in the world IMO...
The wheels are turning
Its a great weekend to boat in san diegoThis is exactly what I'm talking about. The reason I say we would boat less is we would stay here in SD as our primary residence so in order to go boating there would be a 6 hour flight involved. The $60 slip fee is comical....I pay $600 here in SD on Harbor island for a 30 foot slip. We're headed to the Keys in March so I'm definitely gonna take a day or two to look around at boating options.

@Tank it turns out the place we ran the boat today was Boca Lake. Just north of Ft Lauderdale. Nice short run outside the inter coastal then back in at Boca - there is a nice bay area where boats like to anchor and hang out. When we dropped anchor it was about 7’ deep.
Perfect spot for afternoon beers!
You need a deck handYep....actually headed down here shortly.
My old neighbor hood...Spent a lot of time in lake boca..Home of the famous Lake Boca Bash

Looks like fun. It appears that you don't need a real big boat to have a good time. Would you agree @sirbob ?
I started spending some time boating in South Florida about 10 years ago. As soon as I found out how easy it was to boat to the Bahamas, the Keys, and just the boat scene in South Florida you really will never find boating like it anywhere.I'm actively trying to convince my wife to abandon the boating program here and setting up something in S.
