I get on average of 10 calls a day, some live people, most automated that start with “don’t hang up” as the opening line.

Since this CV deal hit, Im getting maybe one call a week. IMO one of the benefits of this whole deal. I don’t understand why these assholes keep calling, how is that shit profitable? There must be some significant segment of the population that doesn’t hang up.

I have to admit I am enjoying this slower pace of life. Apparently huge segments of the population are non essential, myself included. Funny thing is I’ve worked very hard to be non essential for a long time, many of these poor bastards must be just coming to the conclusion nothing they do matters

These dickheads all run their telemarketing from some boiler room call center overseas. Those are all shut down now due to the virus.

I had a job in Irvine off the 5FWY and Jamboree several years ago and one of the biggest offenders was based out of the building next to us. Not the actual call center, just their corporate office and American "closer" salesmen. If I remember correctly they did the car warranty calls and IRS scams. They got raided and it was glorious. The execs get escorted to the back of a squad car.

I don't answer any calls unless I know who the caller is and most all the solicitor calls hang up when vm activates. Real people calling will leave a message and/or I pick up at that point.
The obvious robo call numbers I block.

I've received 3 calls in the past 2 days and they state they are representatives of the CDC. Not sure if they were or not as I didn't give them a chance.

Some just hang up, some are the car warranty deal, a lot are the " you won a free stay at Marriot hotels".

Robo calls are indeed a drag..... just a heads up..... I get them on my home office land line through Spectrum and I've gone on website and blocked those most frequent which seems to help. The robo tech is pretty sophisticated for sure.... I've noticed they'll even come through ID looking like numbers from my little neighborhood. Crazy tech... and obviously our gov't hasn't been able to squash them yet.

studies have shown people are likely to look at social media when they have their phone in their hand.

some of these calls (the ones where nobody is there and then hangs up) are to get you to pick up your phone. think zuckerfuck and the other media moguls are in on the scam....absolutely...and paying off the powers that be to ignore it.
