Took the fiance and kids out for their first island trip yesterday... in a 21' bote

Launched out of Channel Islands Harbor. Ran into some Tank testing

The girls were miserable...

Before we left the Harbor, we found our first Sea Lion.

The target was just barely visible in the distance.

Fishing boats are easy to see... they have a million birds chasing them looking for an easy meal.

Made it to the famous Anacapa Arch

There is a light house and residence @ the arch. And a crane to get things up the cliff.

The Cliffs are pretty damned cool!

Santa Cruz looks completely different... I kept having Jurassic Park flashbacks

Again, the kids were miserable. Notice the GPS. 30mph, 25.5miles to Ventura Harbor

FINALLY ran into Dolphins (which made my 8year old VERY happy!)

Just a bit over 60miles in all. 35ish mph on the way over, low-mid 40's coming back. Low 50's from Ventura Harbor back to CI Harbor. Boat was super happy the whole trip, never did anything funny. Seas were fairly flat. 2' swells, enough to move the boat around, but not intimidating. Kids LOVED it, and are asking to go again today.

Thanks for the pics. Just got back from there. Had breakfast on the harbor. Islands were really close today, and the water was flat.

Thanks for the pics! Grew up in California, but never made it further than a trip to Catalina in eighth grade. That looks very cool.

Very cool. Miss surfing Mar Meadows and other spots there. You sure these photos aren't staged like the moon landing.....it takes at least a 35' cat to make the big journey from Windsor to Topock Our next family boat we're going to build something very similar so it can ski, handle Mohave, run the whole river, and do this stuff --

...Thank you very much for the posting...having been a live aboard for eight years I get it...and I miss it... although my ocean going was to Catalina...never hit the Channel Islands...
...no feeling like perfect weather out on the big blue when the water is perfectly flat...double thumb up...

Badass for sure!! I would love to see how this boat handles that same water at speed. I bet it's a helluva ride! I've always loved the Bernicos just can't afford one!

Great meeting you guys! Great day on the water. It was so calm. Little cool but all good.

Can’t thank you enough for getting wet and helping me get the boat on the trailer, totally saved us. Lol.
