You can do a featureless AR which removes all the scary parts

Rather have the mini 14 as a plinker over a neutered ar15.But rather have an ar15 for a long range target rifle over the mini.

Oh have both but even when i lived in ca my AR wasnt a neutered version as i had it in 98 and registered it.I had the mini from when i bought it in 94 a stainless for 350 bucks new.Now in az it doesnt matter now.

If you want an AR with all the standard features (if you care about “the man” )check out juggernaut tactical. They make a device that takes place of the rear takedown pin that meets the requirements that allow you to have a 95% normal AR. Pretty cool and it’s about $35.00. Turners and other local CA gun stores actually sell them as well as company direct online.

So I went with the Ruger Mini 14.

Agreed. Guns are scary. I live in California, but have no fear, I keep my guns in “Arizona” 😁

Having not been a rule person...what's so scary and non-legal about a rear takedown pin?

First 30 rd ok
Then not
Now ok
And it goes on and on .
If I buy in ca years ago, screw it
They should mail an update .
They have my address.
This is me too, all my guns were legal at one point, then I tragically lost them in a boating accident

Ha Ha. The part they make replaces the rear takedown pin and allow the operator to “break the action” to reload. This allows you a standard mag release, adjustable buttstock, pistol grip because it fits into the either or category with a featureless/ standard set up. See link below.

I actually have a hell fighter kit that I never installed if a CA RDP member would like it. Free because Fuck Newsom!!

All that rear takedown pin is a machined pin that when rotated allows the upper to provide space enough to release the mag. Big fricken deal.
Bullet button.
Hi cap
Small cap
No cap
Flash hider
Pistol grip
Bayonet lug
Forearm brace

It’s all BS...

mini14 with a folder, scope, and jungle/clipped 30 rounders look killer and are fun to plink with

Holy crap!
I'd be dead in a heartbeat if I grabbed that in a gun fight! It's cool that it makes it "legal". The problem is, all your AR platforms would have to be set up the same, and practiced with the same. At least there are no permanent mods, back to stock in a few minutes.

EVERYTHING is legal until you get caught with it by someone who cares you have it! Drugs, Guns, Booze, Porn, etc. is all legal to have until someone with enough authority decides it’s not. All the goons who aren’t stocked up on mags, have half capable weapons, registering ammo, etc. are foolish! Ain’t nobody going door to door without notice, and without permission searching your shit. So what if you have shit that some think is dangerous! Don’t walk around shooting people, don’t shoot your wife/kids, don’t be a fucking moron. The LEO have FAR better things to do than come to your castle and look through your shit!

All yours.
DM me your address and I’ll send it in the mail.

I also owe you a call about the power head. The weekend got away from me but I’ll reach out so we can talk.

I’ll take it.

So I went with the Ruger Mini 14.

Good choice on the Mini 14. Not as scary looking as the ARs and probably just as accurate as the ARs.
My Mini 14 shoots 22.3 as well as 5.56 LAP with never a jam. It is dead accurate.
I have never used grease nor oil on my guns. Nothing but Molybdenum disulfide.
YMMV Cheers.

Here's the thing about having an AR in CA. You're a fool to use it unless it's all out civil war #2. So you need to separate the upper from the lower. It's no longer considered a weapon per CA law. Transport the same way to AZ or NV to shoot it and train. Problem fixed.

My truck gun is a 870 tactical 12 Gauge with a surefire light, mesa tac side saddle and Magpul stock. If you want to go full retard then send it to Wilson combat for the full monte.

For more great recipes follow me.....

I suspect that if things ever come to that, it won’t be local cops going door to door. They’ll all be Feds and National Guard deputized as feds. Oh wait... they already did that in DC yesterday. Democrats did that. Never forget folks, who your enemy is. The Federal government is NOT your friend. And absent a search warrant, they’ll never get in my house. DON’T let them in on some “knock and talk” pretense either. No SW, no entry. Period. Stand your ground and hold your mud.

I agree.... That said, if it gets to that point, your scary gun is the LEAST of your worries.

Freedom and firearms are the two primary reasons I left California. They don’t want you having neither. And I’m one of those guys that when the government tells me I don’t need to have something, I want it
Me too.

Moved all of my "AR" style rifles to AZ. Have a Benelli M4 in California now as my long gun.

My mini is very reliable and very accurate. I love the thing because it never fails on me. It's great up to about 150 yards, meaning I can aim directly at what I am shooting at without any adjustment after that I have to compensate a bit. If the Chinese decide to roll across our borders, that is what I will use.

I just bought a “featureless” AR, avoided all the CA noise completely and retained the normal mag release button. It is treated as a simple rifle, exactly like a Mini 14 would be. The nice thing is that it does not have to be transported in a locked container being “featureless”.

The “features” only take a couple mins to put on, outside state lines of course.
