My 16 year old daughter is wanting to switch from a quad to a motorcycle. She has almost no experience on a bike. Before I go full out on a bike, and before I sell her quad, I want to get a cheap trainer bike so shc can see how much more work there is in riding a bike vs quad. She briefly rode an old CR 80 and loved it.

She is only 5' - 4" so I am looking for an older inexpensive 80/125. Honda preferred. But most anything will work. Anyone have something taking up space. My daughter is a bad ass and this would be awesome for her.

Thanks in advance.

I taught my wife on a TTR125 and then stepped up to a 125.

I’d start at the TTR. The throttle is smooth and the bike is super forgiving.

If she likes the 2 stroke and you can find one than that’s awesome, might try a crf150 as well.

I havent done a 2 stroke in a few years, but I built this as a play bike 5 years ago for $1800ish. 2003 CR125, protec motor, reworked the suspension, new plastics/graphics/seat. Parts seem to still be available for the early 2000s 2 stroke stuff

My daughter is 13 she just learned to ride a bike this year at glamis a friends kids kx80 she did well and now wants a bike.I want to get her a 125 to improve on shes not into going to fast. She prefers something shorter although shes already 5'5''.

Was considering a ttr or xr but we also do glamis alot too. After last calico trip she rode her blaster into a small 1ft ditch at an angle and flipped it over she said see if i had a dirtbike i would have rode right through it.Lol
