Dave, remember my buddy's 389 Newmar Ventana? He didn't have washer&drier. He always had it hooked up in Indio where he owned a spot in the resort, so no biggie. His brother has a 2011 Newmar View attachment 925827 Dutchstar that has washer and drier and he may want to sell it. He has a number in cdn dollar in his head and would be negotiable.
The layout is like this. You may want to check them out on rvtrader, quality would be much better than those gassers you're looking it.
That layout doesnt have enough beds for his kids.

The one Dave likes in his post is 38 feet with gas engine. While it has bunk beds, it doesn't have washer and drier. Also, it would struggle to pull the claimed 8K on the slightest grades. Dave [ Stacy ;) ] has a lot of thinking to decide what they really want.

It is prepped for washer and dryer. I don't think it's gonna be that bad towing.

The vacationer does NOT have the bed over the chairs. I would HIGHLY advise against a passenger side pop-out. It just indrudes too much into our outdoor space. Even the small slide like the Miramar has could be problematic too cause its right at the proper height to nail someone's head on. Also, get one with the TV across from at least the couch. If not, there will likely only be 1 or maybe 2 comfortable places to watch the TV from.

Dave,
This was our setup for almost 15 yrs. 36' Country Coach Intrigue, 1995, 8.1L big block Cummins, 18' custom built fully finished trailer with 4' side door, shelving and heater to dry are riding gear. 2 kids in elementary school at the time. Needed room for 4 quads, or a jeep, or 4 Harley's for guy trips. Dry camp capable, 4 seasons, and something we could hit up Walmart parking lots on big trips (if necessary). Did a lot of camping along Oregon coast riding the dunes so overall length was a huge consideration.

What i liked:
36' - shortest bus i found, had the trailer custom order @ 18' to keep overall as short as possible. After purchase, remodeled the inside seating to accommodate dual hide-a-beds, updated window coverings and entertainment. This was a cheap fix to the sleeping arrangement and installed nice flexsteel sofa beds and chairs. Separate toilet from bath/shower was nice too.

Country Coach - top notch hardware and wiring throughout, quality woodwork, central vac system, and a combo W/D. Side Radiator - easy to service the motor, although only needed to access twice in 15 yrs. Cummins Motor, Gillig bus chassis - any truck stop could service brakes and motor and air systems (i had air tools for servicng the quads too)

other considerations: Handling wasn't great when i got it, but took it to a DP specialist in southern Oregon and they changed out stabilizers, air valves, shocks, and sway bar and it handled like a dream after than. Would easily roll down the interstate at 85-90MPH and i could log 700 mile days running from WA to UT without much fatigue. I also put on 6 new lower profile tires - dealer says to throw out tires @ 10yrs.

I won't hesitate to jump back into a similar top quality DP and would look at 34' with slides. Good Luck.

Dave, I like big buses, especially with tag axles for superior road holding and ride. But 34 is the limit where you can find parking and camp sites easier that would accommodate them. 37 and up is getting harder to get around, and it gets old dealing with. The 2014 Hurricane is quite nice, has the amenities you're looking for at the lowest price point, leaving with $$$ in your pocket for fuel and maintenance, compared to the ones with nearly twice as expensive in your lineup. Remember, cheaper unit may be easier to re-sell once you figure out mohoing is not your thing..;):D

Nobody uses the washer and dryer in their RV, it’s a nice sale feature but pointless, you can fit a pair of pants and maybe one sock and it will use all of your water if your not in a park. If your in park they all have laundry facilities anyway. Most people we know take them out for more storage. Where mine was I put in shelves and keep printers and my scanner in there.

Well, never say nobdy. We use ours every so often, hooked up or boondocking. Now, you are right about some taking them out. They were removed in our previous coach and we put in drawers. We did not think we would use it, but the turns out we have.

My rv has a washer and dryer and we use it every trip. Its a.great convenience. Plus when you get home, all the laundry can be done in the rv and the clean clothes repacked, ready for the next trip!

The dishwasher gets used every trip as well!

We bought an 08 Seneca 36FS bunk model back in January. We love it! Kept it in havasu all summer with minimal issues (ac broke...fml) but this thing drives so good. It will tow 10k lbs & eventually I plan on getting a small toy hauler to tow behind. In mean time it will prob just be a utility trailer though.

We’ve been remodeling, pulled up shitty carpet/linoleum & put down hardwood, all new lighting & electrical etc. it’s a great rig & look forward to having it for awhile.

We as a family of 6 made due with something like this and thought we were ballin big time at the boat races.

Back in the early 60's our family ski boat was faster than 90% of your poser boats today. ;)

Before my little sister was born we camped at River Lodge in a tent. Bacon and eggs never tasted so good.

Looks perfect size.

Biggest thing buying used you want to make sure there were no roof water leak that have caused damage to the RV. Water leaks can literally ruin one to the point of being unrepairable.

Just about ever RV will have some sort of water leak at some point. But if you do roof and wall inspections regularly. They can usually be caught early and fixed. Before causing major damage.

Might be a dumb question, but since we've never really looked at a Super C, is there any reasonable way, sans acrobatics, to get from the cab to the coach or visa versa ?
Like to use the rest room as one example.

shifts right out. Climbs highway 58 almost easily with engine and transmission temps hardly moving. 12” tandem brakes on the 20’ trailer makes it stop fine. Down the highway, it will creep up to 80 +.

Easy in mine just turn and step back. Overhead bunk has a big cutout area right in the middle to step up into.

There's a strong chance we're gonna be in the market for a RV in the next few months or so. When we are, I'll shoot you a message since we're in Tucson as well.

Hi Dave, can't tell you which coach to buy but can tell you some general stuff that I think would be helpful. this list is not in any order.
1. Whatever you get, have it professionally inspected like a boat. Both mechanical - oil samples etc, and RV systems/Roof, structure for delams - a major issue in older coaches etc.. Dealer inspections I believe are a conflict of Interest. Use independent inspectors not recommended by dealer.
2. Thor: be careful here. They look fancy but most come with many issues. So very important to see maintenance history and have inspections!!. Used Monaco's, Tiffin's and Newmar's all tend to be above the pack vs the rest of the pack. Thor's bring up the bottom of the list. All RV's are high maintenance. They are moving homes!
2. Don't worry about 10 year rule if coach looks great for the year.
3. RV's are selling like hot cakes so inventory is low, prices are up. You gotta move fast if you find the right one.
4. Length discussed in post #33 not totally true. Monaco's, Newmar;s and Tiffin's tend to have their helper steering systems installed so not an issue. Also, Most Class A are at least 1 ft longer than advertised. Example I have a 36' GH Tiffin Phaeton that is actually 37'. Just like 24' Trailers are actually about 28' long. If you plan on going to CA watch the 65' length issue. They go by actual measured length.
5. If you can drive the unit on a windy day which probably won't happen but do drive it.
6. TIRES: New is best, if over 5 (check the date code on ALL tires) either have seller put on new tires or reduce price to cover purchase & install of new tires! Most say 10 years is limit, I think RV industry says over 7 is a no go but most long time RV'ers say 5 years is limit. I use the 5 year rule. You will too if you have a blowout!!
7. Good Maintenance records and RV history is a real plus!! Most dealers do nothing to used RV's until sold. So expect to see issues until you commit. Pvt party best especially in AZ, No Tax!
9. Batteries: Over 3 years old are suspect. Check age and for bulging of sides.
8. Think Montana LLC also. I've got a point of contact if needed. Hope this helps a bit!

See so many toterhomes and motorhomes pulling trailers that are over 65'. Are people just rolling the dice?

Looks like it checks all the boxes on what you are looking for. Have them send you pics of the seating area with the living room slide closed, looks like it could be a little cramped while traveling with the slide in. Also have them send a picture of the kitchen area, that is a lot of sleeping in a 36' coach, kitchen may not have much counter space. The solar and lithium battery upgrade is a really nice option especially when you are dry camping in the desert.

What size motor? Just see that it is a Cummins. You don’t want anything under 380 hp
If it’s like a Thor it’s probably 6.9 340 horse with 2500 trans. That’s what really limits your towing. But a buddy tows an 150 and golf cart with his 340 horse
