I'm just not in the know on stereo equipment but I know I don't like what's in the boat now. It's a Avalon Pontoon with a Jensen HU and speakers. Can anyone suggest some 6.5" dual type speakers for us to look at, I need six, but would like to keep them at around $150/pair. Right now I'm looking at Rockford Fosgate RM1652B's, but I don't have a clue what I'm looking at.

I think I am going to change the HU to the Fusion MS-RA70 and add a amp, I was told a 5 channel like the Rockford M600-5 would be good for someone like me that is not a stereo guru. I would like to add a sub such as the Rockford Punch P1S4-10, but i have to find room for one.

Any help would be appreciated!

What about Kicker, are their 6.5's any good? And their sub tube 45CWTB104? That would fit well in my Helm cabinet.

@tunnel vision I went with the Rockford Fosgate RM1652's and I couldnt be happier.

They are a great speaker at the $150/pair pricepoint mainly because they are rated at 75 watts RMS. Everything else I was finding was rated around 50 watts RMS in that same price point. This rating is important because it denotes how much continuous power the speaker can handle.

The design of the speaker grill was also the most protective one I could find which was important for me. You would he hard pressed to get something through the grill slats to damage the cone.

I used the Polk mm652. Work good for me. I don’t know how much better than what you have now, but they are way better than the Sony junk I had before.

Cut it open and put some 7-8” in there. Cry once be happy long time. JL M-series or the Rockford horn loaded speakers.

If you can fit these go with the M6 7.7-inch Marine Coaxial Speakers (100 W, 4 Ω)-299.99 a pair
To stay the same size if you have 6.5" already then do the M3 Standard Flange 6.5-inch Marine Coaxial System (60 W, 4 Ω)-229.99 a pair
