I'm watching... curious... RD previously mentions a "plug", forgive me for not remembering the other post but is this going to be all gel coated glass molds? Will the deck be a part of the mold when completed or is the plan to place what looks like 6-8 or even 9 pieces from molds onto a different deck material?

It will be 100% fiberglass deck. Even the floor will be fiberglass with Gatorstep applied to it.

OK, dumb question. Is this current setup going to be fully dressed, then stripped to be made into plugs?

here is one for the suggestion box, maybe already mentioned... maybe add a couple built in coolers to those seat molds with drains :)

OK. I've only done little stuff, like speaker boxes and hood scoops...limited to one or two copies pulled from the mold. Basically, one or so sheets of MDF, bondo and paint...nothing nearly that big or complex.

Good looking setup! When renderings go three dimensional and full size, makes things "real" for people that have trouble visualizing a finished product. Post updates when you can...very cool.

It already looks completely different from these pictures and video. We have added the foam to start shaping. We will post soon again.

I don't recall it being mentioned, in this thread, perhaps awhile back --- where are you located ? And what services other than gatorstep do you currently offer ?

We are in Riverside California. We can do restorations, stereo upgrades, gel repair, detailing (gel correction, ceramic coating). Motor and drive work depends on the job. Pretty much anything boat related.

What will the weight difference be VS the typical twin engine toon? It’s a great concept. Really can’t wait to see the first one pop out.

Thank you 👍
But I'm betting ole RD wouldn't have minded a bit if you provided more detailed elaboration for those who've posed questions in other threads " Anybody know where I could get XYZ work boat work done in the inland area ? " 😁

So go ahead, sell yourself, like an image of your business card, contact information or website link perhaps.
After all, I did ask, and one reason I did is because it appears at least at this stage of your operation, you've got your customer's boats parked securely inside.

Good luck with your new endeavor 👍👍👍

toons flex like crazy. How will the top not get stress cracks? will your top section attach to a wood deck or is fiberglass direct to logs?
The thing i dislike about my toon is its modular. No matter how cool it is, its still a bunch of stuff bolted down. Your plans have a better 'custom' look.
When will it hit the water? Next summer ish

The fiberglass floor is a liner that will go over the aluminum subfloor that has a cossa floor. Everything will be tabbed and fiberglassed down.

yes it does. Im not talking a flex you can see. From bow to stern its moving. Its normal, no big deal since the toon decks are so modular. Mines ridged as hell, but they all flex a bit in rough water.
Sounds like Luxe has this dialed in. Very cool new boat. Ive always said Im a 1 time toon buyer. This could change things.

Don't feel bad...I always said toons were for old farts!
And then they started putting twin 400's on them...
Well shit, I then realized I was wrong, very wrong.

I believe they are looking to have the first true completed unit on the water in March. That is bottom dialed in full production product.

Just a personal comment, but one of the features that has attracted my aging ass to the whole tri-toon market is that nice comfy looking captains chair.
I'm not so sure I find that bench seat as appealing. I'm also not sure in that style of boat I want to be elbow to elbow with another person, even my wife. 🥴I
I have no doubt many will disagree, and I'm no hater, I'm sure it will be beautiful and comfortable, just my personal seating preference.

They will build it however ya want. You can do two seats with a storage box in between like a truck.

We can build it anyway you’d like. That’s just a rendering that we thought looked good. We have already switch the cockpit around with the drivers wheel on the port side.

Not seeing it in person I may not be giving proper consideration to the console width and occupant elbow room. Based on your comment I suspect it's sufficient.

Awesome idea and very cool concept.
My typical monday morning quarterback critical nature...it appears that passengers in the rear seats will have limited forward visibility due to the center console.
Is this typical to traditional center consoles?

Following this thread..

The dude seats you can see but not the center. One advantage is less wind.

serious question...Im sure these are 200k plus plus with twins. I dunno, 150k with a single? Totally a guess. Normal Joes like me dont have 200k to toss at a boat. A large down payment is fine. How do you get a loan on a new company like this? I did read there is someone doing financing on Speed cars, I thought that was interesting and sorta in the same realm.
Obviously Im not buying #1 or #10, my guess is those will be cash buyers.

It’s much easier to get financing on a pontoon than any other boat. There’s a process you have to go through to get your boat company on NADA which we have done.
