how much is the ikon pass going for these days
yep $750 each

total days to date=10...less than $75 per day
7-10 more days scheduled this season

The daily rate is crazy...

Something tells me Mammoth will get wise and the IKON price will go up

Waiting for Lottery win to do the $10k Black Pass :)

The road near Kirkwood Resort in California remains closed due to the mammoth amounts of snow that still need clearing.

What road is that. That’s insane.
My aunt/uncle/brother worked at Kirkwood for many seasons. Was an incredible place growing up.

doubtful. Mammoth is now owned by Alterra. They wouldn’t be switching to the Epic pass.
Just realized Alterra was purchased by Vail Resort in 2022

@Singleton If you're talking about this Google search item:

Check the date on it... Not what you think.

That was a FB post. I have no idea but Google looks like it is a cool place off the beaten path.

Wonder what the weight is on one of those roofs.
I'd like to see the truss/load wall drawings

Crazy that an April fools joke shows up as one of the number 1 search retrievals when looking at Alterra....

Everything is getting out of reach for "normal" families. My Mammoth/June trips were 5-10 a year. Now have not been since 17/18.

Same for me. But it's been even longer than that.

Hats off to you guys that can still make it happen for your families!

👍🏼

If you ski a lot, a pass certainly makes it doable. My pass in Colorado was $400 this year. We'll ski 30-40 days which makes the daily cost less than a ski resort beer. Stay with/at friends place or get a killer last minute mid-week hotel deal, or drive up for the day. Pack food/beers/drinks and stash it on the mountain for a mid-day picnic. After all of these years, back in ski bum mode again. Haha

If I was one to do a few days a year, w/o a pass and especially with a young family on weekends or holidays, I would have quit a long time ago.

I was up there last weekend. It's absolutely absurd.

It's getting dangerous with another 10 feet in the forecast for the next 10 days.

My buddy said the town declared a state of emergency.

There's a chance they pass the annual snowfall record by mid March 😲

Usually it’s a labor issue, not snow, that’s why they set a definitive date. Most of the labor goes to summer resorts, that’s how they stay employed year round. That’s the case here in CO from many with whom I’ve spoken.

They announced that back in January - after the first big storm.
They have not announced if the will extend beyond July 4
My buddy with a place up there said he is looking forward to June-August where he can ski, mountain bike, and play 9 holes in one day

Got an emergency assessment from HOA the other day... 2K per unit...they owe 100K by April 1st for the all the additional snow removal......its crazy... I have avoided going during these big storms as the mountain is barely open so everyone is vying for 2-3 lifts and dealing with 50mph winds...town services are limited......if this next one dumps another 70-100" we will definitely pass the 2010 - 668" by the end of the season... Anyone that lives there full time and makes it through these winters are cut different.

In 2017 (year of 617" inches) they were skiing till Aug 4th Booze and Blues weekend....it was crazy my bro was up there mountain biking and bikers and skiiers were sharing beers at McCoys...

Glad we put all our kids living in Reno into 4WD/AWD vehicles. They say it's a big difference.

I thought I was a pretty good skier,, nope. Swiss wife kicks my ass skiing down the trails. Fearless and fast.

As far as I'm concerned this weather is the "old Normal."
I remember Mammoth annual passes were $71 and it pissed everyone off.
