Kongsberg, Norway (CNN)The suspect in a deadly bow-and-arrow attack in Norway has been handed over to health services and won't appear in court on Friday, a regional police spokesperson told CNN.
Espen Andersen Bråthen, 37, has been charged with murder over the attack, which took place in the Norwegian town of Kongsberg on Wednesday evening and left five people dead.
Bråthen "is not disputing what happened," the police spokesperson told CNN Friday.
The prosecution has asked a judge that the suspect is held in detention for at least four weeks, including two in isolation, the spokesperson added. The killer admitted to the police he was responsible for the deaths. It's also obvious the crimes were premeditated. Then there's the fact he has been radicalized by Islamic terrorist ideology. He should have been charged with five counts of murder and jailed without bail.

Instead, the same day he was captured, Norway's liberal justice system determined he wasn't answerable for the crimes because of mental illness. They placed him in a psychiatric facility. That they ascribed his actions to mental issues without any type of judicial hearing, rather than acknowledging the fact he is a dangerous criminal, clearly illustrates how the rights of victims are a secondary consideration in leftist societies.

My comment that the same treatment of criminals is "coming to a Democratic state near you" refers to the proliferation of radical leftist/socialist district attorneys in liberal states. These DAs and prosecutors have been elected through the efforts and money of George Soros, former US Attorney General Eric Holder, and many other wealthy leftists and socialists.

Examples are easy to find. LA County DA George Gascon and Illinois' Cook County prosecutor Kim Foxx have unleashed dangerous felons on minority communities. Murder rates have increased over 100% during 2021 in several large cities run by Democrats. Citizens in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and LA are among those nationwide trapped in lawless war zones.

Soros's money is also backing politicians that are dismantling the bail system in America, allowing dangerous criminals to walk free after committing crimes such as murder and felony domestic abuse.

Once they are freed, it is common for them to commit further serious crimes. Dozens of women across the US are now dead because their abusers were released from jail for a few thousand dollars:
