What is the max length in az and ca for towing a 5th wheel and then another trailer behind. I can’t find a length rule here

is that total include the tow rig or just trailer. I mean my semi is longer then that with a 53‘ trailer attached to a sleeper cab tractor

I thought doubles was 48’ of trailer total but it’s been a long time.

RV rules in Cali were 65ft oal...unless you're pulling a "tractor, semitrailer, trailer combo" with a CDL
I was running 70.5' with a 1ton, 5er and a tag trailer...never got popped. Problem is, you legally need to have a non-commercial class A/1 to haul doubles in Cali. With you already having a CDL, be careful. I heard the Glamis people were worried about getting tagged a few years back, but seemed more noise than actual enforcement.

I don't know about AZ, I had thought it was comparable when I moved here...but that was 9 years ago. I had thought 72' oal is what I heard last? There were some exemptions in some states, for both motorsports and ag, but Cali bailed on the motorsports one a few years back. I know back east the highway payroll would tag you for "driving out of class" if you had a tow rig marked NFH, but logos on your trailer...calling them "Sponsors". This implied "business use", needing a CDL and all kinds of BS (Tennessee and Pennsylvania 🖕 )

35-37' 5th wheel
24' sand rail trailer or 24.5' long jet boat

We are talking about 79-81 feet

it is clear as mud but my understanding is with a class C license it is 65 regardless. If someone has a class A with dual endorsement then it could be longer on a 5th wheel. I don’t know the dual rules though

I looked into it but don qualify cuz I don’t have a class A and don’t wanna get one

Honestly, if you didn't hit the Delta, or Dumont, you'd probably be fine. Your run to Glamis isn't the one that is overly patrolled by "poachers". Heading up 15 to Dumont, or 5 to the Delta, I wouldn't risk it.
There is an inmate that doesn't post much, that was running a 42ft pusher, and a 40ish foot stacker. OAL was about 90ft, with one point of articulation. I had asked him if he ever got hastled for it. He said he'd run the same rig for several years, up and down the east coast and Midwest, no problem. It is a beautiful rig!

DMV in AZ said 65' feet max on RV,

You can't go over 65' unless it's a semi tractor/trailer, rv is 65' and you have to have commercial doubles

Do you need to upgrade the 5th wheel rear end to handle a 24ft trailer?
