Mercrusier 496 MAG Upgraded NEW long blocks Base, HO and Supercharger ready

    These engines are redesigned with stronger parts to promote longevity and fix factory weak parts that will fail due to low cost materials used!
    ALL engines come with Forged pistons and Stainless steel 1 piece swirl polished valves
    We have 3 stages or build please check below for exact specs

    Stage1 Base 375HP & HO 425HP $7950 Exchange
    496 MAG 375hp & 496 HO 425HP Heavy Duty replacement units
    (we will need year of manufacture and ECU model to ensure you have correct timing cover and cam gear/sensor type, there are 3 different ones 2001-2002, 2002-2004, 2004-2009)

    Blocks
    we only use virgin core blocks that have STD bores for our engines, all blocks are thermally cleaned and magnafluxed, blocks are bored and honed and square decked, mainlines are checked for size and align honed as needed

    Cranks
    Cranks are crack tested and checked for straightness then micro polished at STD or ground 010/010

    Rods
    Rods are resized on 375 and 425 HP engines(these can be upgraded to 4340 H beams if engine is custom built for customer)

    Pistons
    ALL pistons are forged RaceTec brand and 4032 hi silicon forgings
    with flat tops and deeper valve reliefs for hi lift cams Compression is 9:1 for 91 octane gas

    Rings
    ALL rings are Total Seal Plasma moly

    Heads
    ALL heads are thermically cleaned and maged, NEW stainless steel valves and a hi performance 3/4 angle valve job and re-surfaced

    Cams are Comp or Crane factory grinds but upgrades are available (note ECU will need to be reflashed for any cam upgrades from stock!)

    Valve Train
    New Comp lifters, HD Timing set, Moly push rods & Alum/Steel full roller rockers

    Gaskets
    ALL gaskets are Fel-Pro and head gaskets Cometic MLS


    Stage2 525HP $8750
    Same specs as above but following parts are upgraded
    Rods
    PEP H Beam 4340 forged 6.700 long

    Pistons
    Racetec forged with lighter .990 pins

    Cam
    Custom Hardcore Racing Comp or Crane grind

    Stage3 $10500
    Supercharged applications with Procharger/Vortech or Whipple 600+HP(supercharger not included)
    Same as stage 2 except following parts

    Crank
    GM (we only use micro polished STD or 010/010 reground cranks)

    Pistons
    Racetec dished 8:1cr

    Rings
    Total Seal TNT ring set for boosted/NOS engines(gapless also available)

    Rods
    Lunati H beam rods 6.700 long with ARP2000 bolts

    Valves
    Severe duty intake valves & Inconel exhaust valves

    Cam
    Custom comp or Crane grind for boosted applications

    Other upgrades
    Dart block
    Dart iron eagle heads
    Ported stock & dart heads
    Raylar heads
    Forged 4340 511/518ci stroker cranks
    Dart intake with 750/850/950 Quick Fuel carb or blow-thru carb for Procharger applications

    All engines are fully built to our strict marine specs at out Lake Havasu shop!

    So, i give you my 496ho and 10,500$ you give me 496 with a whipple, i just need to have my ecu reflashed.

    Yes price is exchange for a rebuildable core! if your core is damaged there will be a extra charge of between $200-1000 depending how bad the core is!

    The Procharger or whipple is extra! the parts list of whats included is listed

    Stage 2 seems like a legit opportunity for me. Probably one more season as is, but have a running 496 HO now. What do you say to those who believe you can't safely upgrade a 496? I've looked at Raylar and there seems to be a real hit and miss on satisfaction. Would like to hear your thoughts.

    Good question! as far as parts for us its a smart move to change pistons to forged as stock are Hypertectic and very brittle and crack under detonation easily! Rods are forged from the factory and ok for stock applications but make sense if you are going to upgrade the cam and make more power to use the forged 4340 H Beam rods at the same time, both these options are good insurance for your engine.

    It is important to get the ECU tuned for the upgraded cam and extra HP but plenty of tuners who can do that for you once installed
