Hi,

I hope you all are well and healthy in these diffilcult times.

I plan to replace my 400R next year as the warranty will expire in 2 years. I will get more for it selling it with one year warranty than none. Its mounted to Phantom 25 offshore V hull from 1985.

I wonder if anyone of you believe that Mercury will discontinue Verado 400R and replace it with a Mercury 400R 4,6 litre V8 in foreseable future? The 450R is far to expensive for us in Norway; almost 50% higher price plus harness upgrade etc. Then I rather jump into it and buy a 500R when that arrives :)

The 400R is a great engine. Fast and reliable.

Thanks !

Cheeers, Toffen

From everything I’ve heard the 400 platform is here to stay for a while. Just as it is. Very successful and fits in the price point perfect.

Even though I hear what you’re saying. The 300 is a V-8 the 450 is a V-8 and 400 being a straight six in the middle really is kind of weird.
