metal tags?

one of my customers is requesting metal tags 1-1/2" x 3" with a hole in one end that is #40. he wants 1000 aluminum and 1000 stainless tags. they use these to tag parts going to heat treat. my normal place is jacking me around, so i thought i would reach out and see if any one here had any connections or did work like this. Thanks for any help.

McMaster was the first place i looked. no bulk discount and they dont have enough to fill the order any way.

I can laser cut them easy enough for you. How thick are you looking?

Have you tried any local short run metal stamping shops? Both alum and S/S tags could be made on the sample tool/ die set. Basicly a one hit blanking job.

thin, they are just stamping part numbers somewhere around .0469 would work

the only local guy is the one jacking me around. said its not worth his time for less the 5000 each. 2 months ago he was in office begging for work:finger
