Such a beautiful boat! I dig it.
@cycloneha ha. i wonder what he likes about the Cougar more than a Daytona. Like is the bottom different? better? When it's running, I'll be glad to line mine up against his and see which is "better".
He could if he runs an outboardBe badass if you could fit 6 captain seats in 3 rows on it lol
You mean outboards. Wink winkHe could if he runs an outboard
Ported and polished, stroked and bored, and a big hit of nitrousYou mean outboards. Wink wink

Meh I was thinking new 300Rs but nitrous on a v8 would be coolPorted and polished, stroked and bored, and a big hit of nitrous
Does nobody realize that Mike isn’t strapping a mosquito to the back of this thing and that the intake is already set for a jet lol
A mosquito. NotedDoes nobody realize that Mike isn’t strapping a mosquito to the back of this thing and that the intake is already set for a jet lol
Just fuckin around with the typicals of RDP Mike. Both the 21 Daytona and the 21 Cougar MTR are great boats. I just happen to own an old school 21 MTR. So I'm biased . The only thing that I have actually found to be better with the Cougar vs the Daytona (old style hull and deck, which yours is not) was the fact that a V-drive was very easy to set up and handle. It was all about the height of the center sponson.define "way better". i'm curious.
Mike, yours is already better than mine. Lol.ha ha. i wonder what he likes about the Cougar more than a Daytona. Like is the bottom different? better? When it's running, I'll be glad to line mine up against his and see which is "better".
He has a 21 cougar.. lol.
Yup. The Cougar 21 MTR was way better.

I do, its been in storage for the last 2 1/2 yrs. McClure build a new pump for it & I stepped on the motor program some more. Just waiting to get my garage back so I can put it together and attend the next Schiada regatta.Do you still have yours? Likely one of the coolest 21’s in the West.

I'm a fan of this one. It ran pretty good when I finished it. Ran 105 off the bottle. 125 on the bottle. It had all the goodies that Mike is gonna use. Except I imagine he will have significantly more HP. I ran 1100 on mine, If he does that Sonnys in his it should move pretty good. MPD jet drive, jet away, MPD low pro intake. Bennett did the bottom, identical to what Mike had him do to his new one. I'll probably buy it back some day, but right now I'm enjoying my 25.
I ran data on mine for a long time getting the setup right. There is a lot to tweak on these to really get them right, especially with a low pro intake.

"The Bottle" = Not Legitimate
thats a 19 or 21? Is the 19 the one with the really narrow cabinIt ran ok on motor, but in some conditions it would hop terribly. Here is one of the better runs on motor. This was before i rel gelled it, capped and new interior.

And to think I was pissed that day I got stuck with her. There were way better models available but she was assigned to my boat. This was a few weeks before she moved in to the playboy mansion. Now its a good conversation piece hanging on the wall of my office.
I love how wide these little guys are! Great looking 21!
I was never really a fan of the split bench but that looks pretty sweet@Backlash, you are right, the 19's are a little narrow. Great looking interior! Here is mine for comparison. View attachment 999662 View attachment 999664
Somehow this was not posted yet?
Jake showed me his rendering that was pretty close. I asked that he move this a little and let’s stretch out that a little and Mike said “That’s it!”
And we made it so.
