Beautiful! I could really get used to living on a lake like that.
Question: On a grass landing strip like that, how do you deal with deer, elk or even moose up there?

Is your hangar in big fork? I’ll be up there next weekend.

Very cool thanks.
I wish I could have gotten more into aviation. My dad built a couple of planes. My youngest memories were a Taylor craft in the garage and going for my first ride as a very little child in a Bellanca.
The YouTubers in the low and slow Kitfoxs are my go to.
The ramp with the turn table is off the hook!
Again thank you for the ride.

Truly impressive. I was up in that area last summer and have been trying to figure out a way to make a living up there. An old buddy of mine lives in Kalispell.

Yeah they discriminate and profile people from California. As they should !

They want to keep America the way it should be.

America.

So who is doing turbine Goose conversions?
Lots of info on the goose on the web, searched N642. They have a Faceplant page also. Sounds like it was a navy plane, then sold to Dept. Of Interior,, Alaska. Was converted to turbine in '68 while in Alaska. Later, sold to private party.

Way cool Paul,
What site do you get your wind info from for wind over the ridges?
Flying to Red Lodge next week, not sure if I want to go over the top or come up east side of mountain then straight into Red Lodge.

I use ForeFlight and Windfinder . You are considerably further east and south and where I’m located. I would check the local forecast come in high and do the standard approach into that airport. I am not familiar with it haven’t landed there.

When and doubt you could always call the FBO there they probably have some recommendations as well.

you are turbo charged as well correct? Probably need that for density altitude getting out of there.

Which one? There are at least 5 that are open to powerboats all within an hour and a half from us and we are on the southernmost end of Flathead. I think the OP posted pics of three of them. He is a lot closer to the others than we are.

Flathead is pretty warm . . . in late July & August 😂 They have already begun to lower it. They started on Monday and it's already down about 6 inches. Lots of boats and swimming still, but that will probably trickle down after this weekend. Temps are supposed to cool to the 70s. Most docks around here are fixed, so as the lakes get lower, they become unusable.

edit: Now that I think about it, we were in the water over 4th of July and it was plenty warm, but we are at the south end of the lake, where it's a bit warmer.

Amazing pics! Thank you for sharing.

Ive started looking at real estate in Montana as my son has relocated to Bozeman for work.

Very motivational! Though i will keep my place at the lake for Winters.

Dec - Feb looks painful…

No land left up here….Sold out

OK. As long as conservatives only come we’ll make room.

I’m not kidding. They are very protective of America and the America we all used to know. They want to keep it here. Anybody from California with a California license plate or the California area code is definitely a threat.

We don’t use the C word around here.
