My buddy is looking to pick up a project car / truck to do some hotrodding. Prefer GM. Anybody have something cool they don't have time or resources for? I saw a Pontiac Catalina 2+2 a while back? Post em up!

I'd sell the Pontiac or the Galaxie. The Galaxie is in SoCal. The Pontiac is at my place near Lake Tahoe.

Preferably a "complete" car, non-running ok. A roller may be ok if its clean and still has interior / etc. No bare shells / basket cases

My dad has this. It has a 5.3 4L60, fuel cell, digital gauges, leather electric seats, 1 piece electric windows. New bumpers, grills etc. I think he has over $25,000 into it so far. The fenders might be painted by now and glass is all new.

it’s in show low az and he probably wants around $18,000

What's the budget? My 62 Nova ragtop will be on the market soon. Doesn't need too much.

1965 Mustang 99% original Calif car. 200 six cylinder. Auto. Ran when it was parked 20 years ago. Less than 100,00 mi. I also have most of the new aftermarket sheet metal to make it a fastback and a Curry rear end. Not sure what it is worth. Might trade for a 4x4.

That thing is begging for a smaller upper pulley, E85 flex fuel conversion, tune and ice box.....

RE: The E85 conversion, if ethanol is the root cause of all our modern fuel problems, has no shelf life essentially, then you're using it to fuel a car, at least in my case, that would be a garage queen only driven when I'm feeling like an outlaw --- seems like a huge pain in the ass, to be constantly draining stale fuel and trying to get rid of it somehow.

The other items similar to what you mention, require that I remove them every two years and pay for a re-tune, in order to pass this PITA CA smog that's now required on my 12' Camaro.
I'm due a smog now, everything is (back to 😁 ) legal as it was two years ago when I jumped through all these hoops. It may just stay that way now, I've grown weary of the game. 😖

I'm constantly jumping through hoops to keep the E10 fresh and my octane sufficient, hard to imagine with E85.
How are you guys handling the fuel issue for your rarely driven garage queens ??

The only time you use E85 is when you decide "im gonna go have some fun today...." and fuel up with a tankload of it. You burn that tankload and your back to running 91. It doesn't cause any problems. It's not like your running E85 every day, you wouldn't be lucky enough to find it readily available everywhere.

Can’t help with the car, but I do have a brand new 632ci BBC in a crate, only dyno time on it that I’d sell to power his new project.

Funny, you start realizing you actually are getting old (Or older) when your stock, CTS-V, GT350/500, ZL-1 or Z06 scares you enough AND you can actually have a conversation with a hot looking woman, look at her eyes and consider what she's saying over the background noise of your brain screaming " F**K HER, you know you want to" 😂
The two most problem free and hassle free vehicles in our small personal fleet are the two we've left 100% stock.

All the other land and water toys have "Special" needs to cope with, seems I'm constantly moving gas from one to another to keep it fresh.
Because my Camaro sports a CA EO #, now the state requires me to use a STAR smog station and those guys seem really anal about dotting I's and crossing T's.

Thanks for the explanation !!

Im in the same boat....i even put mufflers IN my boat exhaust, and it's just a stock 502 😩

That sucks, never thought about them linking a CARB EO# product with a STAR smog requirement. Nazis I tell ya!

Buddy of mine found this in a garage of a house he sold...all original except for one older repaint (orig color was green, wish they just left it alone) factory A/C car, factory interior in excellent condition. It even has factory radio. Very minor rust under a few spots of vinyl top, as car has been garage kept it’s whole life. No rust in rear package tray which is almost unheard of for these cars. 327, power glide. Car runs great but has water in the oil, prob why it was parked, so it will need engine work. Registered non op, with a pink slip from 1975. One owner car

OMG, NOT MUFFLERS 😖 Next step will be new 4-stroke outboards, they just purrrrr and it only takes 11 watts to hear your fav tunes over the engines 😂

First smog was any smog shop, once the EO # got associated, Star for life I'm afraid, cuz now it's suspected of being a Gross Polluter.

Two years ago when I took it just to a regular smog test station they nailed me for the CAI and slightly undersized pulley. Since the car came from Hennessey with the CAI and undersized pulley (Although they claimed 100% CA smog legal --- bullshit) I had to buy a factory airbox & filter, then the Magnuson stock airbox intake snorkel, then the proper size pulley and have it re-tuned using Magnuson software, all of which they charge big $$ for --- ended up costing me $ 1,200 in parts and labor just so the parts agreed with the model year approved EO# and it would pass the smog visual.
So once again, here we go again, but at least all the right stuff is on it this time.
If and when I sell it, I'll hand the new owner a box of cool bolt-ons and let him decide.

It is worth the conversion. From my experience, it's not as corrosive as it's made out to be.

I have been toying with selling this 1972 Chevelle wagon. I bought it about 15 years ago and drove it for a couple of years then partially pulled it apart. Still runs and drives.

I can tell you that two separate offers from two separate parties for 18,000$ were turned down; these offers were in August of last year. Plans were to take it out to Pomona but this Covid shit happened. Car is located in Brea CA. I can get a phone number if needed

WOW! He's should have taken the 18k. You can still find restored 66 & 67 SS 396 cars for under 50k. Cheers!

If you are interested I can get more pictures. It is a cool car and had built a big block for it but just don't have time to work on it.
