Last but not least is a pic with new scope on it. Also with the bore sighter hooked up to get it sighted in close till I can get to the range to get it perfect. The bore sighter basically aligns the scope adjustment with the bore of the rifle. The last pic is looking through the scope into the bore sighter. You basically just adjust it till its centered on the lines.

Looks great! Good job and thanks for the pics.

After shooting mine this weekend, I'm definitely ready for upgrades. Especially a longer magazine release and the extractor work. Stay away from the rounds I bought. 1-2 out a 10 round magazine would jam. Some one had Blazers that I tried. They cycled perfectly.

Which ammo was jamming on you? Don't fall in love with any ammo yet cause as soon as you change the barrel I guarantee its gonna like something different.

Its actually pretty close. I just used that mount to temporarily put the scope on since I had it already. Gonna go with some Leupold medium rings. Should put it right where I need it and get the scope closer to the barrel.

You have to try all kinds till you find the one it likes. Then you gotta stick with it cause once you sight in the scope for that ammo others may be off. The stock barrel sucks. The chambering is shitty on the them. The GM has a redesigned chamber and will should most ammo better.

Heres with the new Mounts. I wanted to go lower but the stock is too small and it wouldn't line up right with my eyes. This should work good though. :beer

is that the stock rail?

Seemd like the rings that came with the simmons won't fit all that nice on the rail. we looked at Seans and it wasn't a fluch clamp and looked beyond cheesy.Did turners have the rings?

Do they sell sun shades for the simmons?

That is the stock mount that comes with the gun. It will work with either type of rings. I'm using the Weaver style rings but dove tail mounts will work also which is what come with that Simmons scope. Turners does have rings but not a huge selection. I was lucky to find the ones I did there.

And I don't think they make a shade for that Simmons scope you got.

Did the rings mount flush on the rail?

I guess what I am trying to figure out is if when you clamped them down was there a gap causing the rings to be a tad sideways cauked? There seemed to be about a 1/16" gap on seans.

Those rings that come with that Simmons are not the greatest. But for a .22 they work fine. I use them on my other .22 and have never had a problem. I'd have to see Seans to know what your talking about. Heres my other .22

Here are a couple of pictures of the ring mount on the base that came with it. As you can see it just doesn't line up right, like Brandin was saying.

I'm thinking about ordering some weaver ring mounts, what do you think?

Ya that looks a little funny. The stock mount fits either Weather or the dove tail rings so don't buy another mount Sean. A set of Weaver style rings is all you need. The mediums or standard height will probably be just right for your setup since the scope has a small bell on it. Actually I'd probably go with the medium rings so that the scope isn't too low to see out of.

Here it is. My best 5 shot group. Under 3/4 of an inch at 50 yards. I'm sure with some Match grade ammo, a better gun rest, and probably a better shooter :D these could get to 1/2"

Not bad. Did the 10/22 like the Winchester Super-X ammo?

I shoot the Power Points. They're different than the regular SuperX. Thats pretty much all I had so it had to do. I did put about 50 Mini Mags through it that I had and they shot about as good as the Power Points so thats a good sign. I'll try to pick up some match grade ammo before I go to the range again and hopefully remember to bring my shooting rest to help hold the thing steady. I'm just happy it shot the Power Points good cause My other .22 likes them and and it'll save me from having to buy 2 different kinds of rounds.

Its a .22. At 100 yards they have like 5 inches of drop. Now my .17HMR is a whole other story. Out of the box it shot 1/2" groups at 100 yards. And it was cheaper than this damm .22. :smackhead:smackhead

I was at Turners a couple weeks ago looking for an 870 short barrel for the house and stumbled upon a nice Winchester model 1300 defender. Gun was beautiful and looks like its never been shot. Got it for $225. Have to wait till the 20th though to start the registration on it since they had just taken it in and they have to hold it for 30 days before re-registering it.

My rings will be here on Monday. Hopefully they fit. I also picked up an old military .50 ammo box from the same site. I've been looking for one for a while now :beer

I found out yesterday where we can shoot in Superstition. Are you going to bring the .40? I also ordered a box of 9mm, but I'm not sure if I'm going to shoot it or not.

It wasn't a brand I reconized and honestly the ones that sean got look more sturdy. The ones they had looked barely better than the simmons ones.

Think I will need the v block with the 16" barrel?

I am getting kinda sick od nickel and diming this retarded gun;):D

Yes I would get an adjustable v-block. If not you may get barrel droop and chances are that scope won't be able to adjust to compensate for it. But you can try without it and see. Did you get the barrel already?
