Nice little work out, lots of training to come. She's real young so we will just take our time. Kiddo is stoked, gonna be lots of early morning workouts in our future. This is really the fun part IMO, kinda like running a flatty first thing in the am.

Am Flatty run and taking a horse for a jog aren't kinda the same... I'll take the hot rod Flatty running and a Bloody Mary everytime... ;)

Your kid looks stoked though. Pretty cool deal for you guys as a family :)

A friend of mine owns Tommy Town stables in Santa Inez. We went dove hunting on his ranch and all I can say is wow.

There is a buffet at clockers corner on the weekends and you can also order of the menu. Opens @ 5:00 am, great way to start the day.

Getting exposed to the backside has been pretty cool, she may race Del Mar in the fall. We'll see how things go. Watching her fill out over the last few months is pretty wild.

Hope this update finds you all in good health. We ran the filly on Friday at Del Mar in a $50k maiden claiming race, she went off at 16/1 as a long shot. My heart sunk as she came out of the gate, but then something happened. This little filly has a heart the size of a freight train and showed us all exactly what she's made of. Here is a link to a video clip of the race, #4 Desert Willow is our horse, she's easy to spot in the back of the pack.

Slow start and wins pulling away. Well done.

Looks like you have a runner. The time was very decent. Who is your Trainer?

Congrats!

Michael W Mcarthy, he was Todd Pletchers right hand man for the last decade. He just started his own barn based at Santa Anita this year, he has 8 horses currently and this race was a very good thing for his barn.

The race had a $38k purse, we get 60% of that, so a little over $22k. On top of that we all had money on her to win, I cashed a nice ticket myself. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1409606659.360282.jpg

He worked for one of the very best in the Industry. It also appears that he knows how to get a horse ready for the first outing. The fact that he started his stable in the West is our gain and their loss.

Time for some Allowance company. Good choice as I would rather have a hungry Trainer that is paying attention to the Horse and right now she is the star of the stable. Winning pays the bills and she is well on her way.

At 16 to 1 it would be hard not to place a wager.

We're going racing, that being said we will do what's right for this horse. Whatever happens is all good as Friday was an amazing experience that will be a lifetime memory.

Victor Espinoza was the jockey, for those that are not up to speed on this stuff, he is California Chromes jockey also and has career purse winnings of $165MM, he's a badass[emoji106]
