Im happy and scared all at once. Weird feeling for sure. Lol. She wants to be an airline pilot. Im a proud papa today. Her flight instructor cut her shirt. Its a tradition for your first solo flight.

My nephew is a full time pilot, for Sky West if I remember right?

It was a long road, but he is set for life. Lives in Santa Barbara, walking distance to the beach, surfs and races off road.

Awesome! Loosing your shirt tail is an amazing accomplishment. I lost mine at 20 years old in a Cessna 152. I’ve done a lot of stuff but still chalk up my pilots license as one of my greatest accomplishments. A pilot never stops learning!

When I was trying to decide what to do after high school Embrey Riddle was getting high consideration. For some reason I decided against it. Still kinda wish I had done so.

I remember my first solo, well, somewhat. I’m gettin old but, back in my day, the shirt you wore the day of the 1st solo was cut, dated & signed by the student and instructor then hung from the ceiling. Just wish I could remember that day. If I find the picture, I’ll edit and add it here.
