I’m going to try this two blade prop that came with the new boat (I know it probably won’t like it) but I’m going to try it because I have it.

Took off: 3 Blade 12 x 15
Put on: 2 Blade 11.25 x 15

Boat is a 21’ D’Cucci and has around 650hp and 27% gears (too big IMO) I also have a set of 22% gears that might be a better fit for the set up.

What I’m getting right now is that it’s got too much gear I think, with the three blade and I’m only seeing 4200 but getting 66mph which is pretty good slip about 16% but will not keep pulling past like 4400.

Let me know what y’all think!

Id say you are on the right track, as that is what it sounds like, if the motor will pull it.

I would give a call to Tom Bentley and ask. I sent you his number in another thread.

Let me know if you want to get rid of the 12x15 3 blade. So those numbers are with the 2 blade prop? If you liked the way the 3 blade felt you might want to put the shorter gear in it. Like you said, 27's might be too tall. I have a smaller diameter (11x15 I think) stainless Menkins 3 blade you are welcome to try.

Sorry about my poor reading skills. You will likely get more vibration from the 2 blade, big old cruisers USUALLY prefer 3 blades.

I’ll run a two blade Menkins 11-1/2” 16 on my deal from time to time. They’re buzzy as hell up to 2500-3000 r’s. But at 4500 when you stab it, the boat comes alive. The three blade make a bunch of transom lift too, and she’ll get a little bow steer’y. It’s all about what you’re gonna do for the weekend. Wanna pull the tube and wake board? If you run the two blade, the gauges will shake out of the dash. Wanna haul ass? Run the three blade and you’ll change lanes hard coming off the pipe quick.
