I was talking to a buddy earlier in a group text and he said basically that he doesn’t see a lot of threads he wants to join in on because most of it isn’t boating.

My response to that is and has always been “rdp is what you make of it”.

Meaning if you put up trip threads, build threads, offroad threads / boating threads and even family threads etc.. you will find the responses you will get are “in kind”.

This group is an amazing group of people.. It is a charitable group of people, an intelligent group of people, and yes a powerful group of people.

Use those attributes for good, brighten someone’s day, help someone out, or hell share a little bit of a good time with pics and stories for entertainment and to brighten someone’s day..

If you are on here for much other than that, you are on here for the wrong purposes..

Merry Christmas, I hope we can all share a little holiday spirit.. There are people on here dealing with struggles daily and I hear from them all the time how some of the threads really help when they are stuck in some frozen spot counting the ceiling tiles..

Great site Dave... far more than simply a boating thing. This is much broader than that; more of a lifetsyle site.

It is a community.. one that has done some amazing things for others over the years..

From fixing pops rv on the side of the road states away, to helping those down on their luck with employemebt.. housing.. more than I care to name off nor could I remember it all if I tried.

Fast boats, custom shit, loose women, and humanity.. that’s really All I’m looking for here.

But life and the outside world is part of it and the way of the world is the way of this site and every other. The good and not so good here reflect where the world is today. Wish RDP could be isolated from it but, unfortunately, that's not possible. You guys do a great job trying and we all benefit from it

This is the only forum that I'd bend over backwards to help a member, if I could be of any help. Yeah, it may not be all about boating, but is a tight group of people and we have a lot in common. Hell, I just referred a local plumber that I know from here, and I know it will be done correctly

Met a lot of great people from this site, some who have become big parts of my personal life offline. It's a solid community of mostly like-minded people who will give greatly to one another in many ways. From helping out in a natural disaster, to the RDP Express, breakdowns, sick kids, charity events, and even sending and receiving packages for one another...the people here are what make it great. Sprinkle in a bit of boating content and there's no better group of e-friends out there.

There's always an expert with 10 minutes of experience that waters down the advice of true professionals, there's always a member that has to play "devils advocate" and there's always a member that goes off topic for 10 pages. That being said I've met some great people, been screwed over by members buying items but helped a bunch too. There's members you just don't engage in and there's others I'll read every thread they start.

Plenty of great info once you sift through the BS and avoid the negative Nancys.

Infinite Banking doesn't happen over night, takes a bunch of money since ROI isn't what it used to be on these products like in the past... post up when you get advice. I'd bet your adviser would suggest policies on the kids since their "cost of Insurance" is next to nothing, then just overfund?

Short story, member sold me Alcoa's, claimed they came off his truck which he bought from "well-known member", I go mount tires and every wheel is cracked. Called him up and dude went MIA... expensive mistake on my part, chalk it up as a lesson learned. Didn't come on here and talk shit or cry about it.

This is true unless you have large chunks of money to put in, even than it takes time. Problem with kids is justifying any significant amount of death benefit and most carriers the parents to carry 1 1/2 times etc. It is common to use the healthiest spouse. The "infinite banking" stuff is really just wash loans and compounding interest.

I've met lots of really cool and interesting people from this site and have plenty of stories. My best one was posting pics of my Dad's boat here and asking members to lookout for him after my mom passed away. He boated alone for a while. Many people would park next to him and strike up a conversation. Very cool IMO. Thank you

I have been helped, I have helped. I have been on good sides of threads and been on bad sides of threads. I have made friends and have bought stuff over the years from members. I have been told I was wrong on a fix for something that I had already fixed. I have donated to many causes here. Like others have said RDP is what you make out of it. I have never put anyone on ignore on purpose(my fat fingers have though)
