Several of these guys were interviewed a couple years ago. They all said they have either a No Screentime, or very limited Screentime rule for their kids...and all don't let their kids use social media at all.

Here I was thinking this thread was about their disgusting "Cuties" movie...

I am watching it right now, while I’m scrolling rdp and fb..

I am seriously considering getting rid of fb as a whole.. by that I mean the rdp group pages etc..

I think it will hurt my company, but I swear fb is the fucking devil.

I’ll go on that thing too much sometimes, and want to go load magazines and drive to Portland. Lol

Well just finished kinda browsing it while on social media ironically..

to say it’s disturbing is an understatement.. much preferred tiger king. :D

that said I truly believe fb and media are 90+% of our countries problems right now

I don't think it will affect your website much RD. Might be worth a try.

I can say I have never signed up for Facebook. Of course social media doesn't end with FB. I had Instagram for awhile, but I haven't logged in for years. It isn't healthy to watch everyone one-up each other on a daily basis.

I will be watching this documentary.

I'll use someone else's account. It is a tool for finding peeps, and information. For instance:

I rescued 2 boxer mix dogs, abused, by buying them off evil owners.. Previous owners then stole one back, seriously injuring a beloved dog, Baby, during the theft. She later died. She gave her life defending the home.. I used Fakebook to "Spy," on the POS PO. When I knew they were gone. I went and got my dog back. I kept LE in theloop. They had no problem with it. He is still traumatized from the POS PO. I kept Baby's last two pups.

Fakebook sucks and that little twerp Suckerberg can go suck a giant bag of dicks.

I've unfollow ed most everyone and only do groups of similar interests to me . Boats upholstery, cars etc.
This week I showed the wife how to unfollow people and she's cleaning house.
I agree SM is a big problem.

it seems like we have forgotten a basic rule of life.......nothing is free.

everyone is bagging on FB....but ALL the other service providers on the net....mail, social sites, data backup services are ALL there for ONE reason only.........to mine us much data from you/about you as possible.

that's the real cost associated with these services that we willingly surrender our data to use the service.

as for the addiction factor.....that's entirely another topic...albiet is there really any difference between screen time and other forms of addiction?

Picked up this book coup years ago.. haven’t read it fully yet..

Social media is a powerful tool. Facebook I have been focusing my attention and using it more like this forum as a place to learn shit about the stuff I’m interested in. Instagram seems to have a huge HLAM aspect to it. I do post stuff there I do to show off, but not to boast about being better or any of that shit as there are others out there far more talented than I am, and I don’t care who’s shot is better. I am open to new ideas about things though and seeing stuff that some people do differently than myself has shown me that you can always learn a new trick.

I deleted mine after ending things with my last girlfriend before I met my wife. So about 7ish years ago. At first it was just easier to delete it rather than deleting pics and stuff. After a few days of not having it I didn't mind at all. Now I prefer to not have any of it.

I’ve never had Facebook, Insta, SnapChat...but I am on Twitter. I sat down with my wife and my 19 year old son last night to watch. It was great to watch it and get his take. He was pretty surprised and it reinforced a lot of conversations we have had in the past. I will be watching it again with my 16 year old.

Highly recommend.

Good viewing
Dumping FB due to security issues and the issues in the film. At least one of the two LAPD Cops shot at off duty in the last two weeks looking like social media searches led shooter to the Officer.
Time to tune out and stay vigilant as the data trail for me is long and not too hard to find.
