What does one of these motors cost new?
Thanks for the input.
I guess I will waste
Space on my own thread
So that I can get to 10 posts
Sorry just didnt want to add useless post on other peoples threads....
More like in the 23 to 25k range. It was right at 23k last year when I asked a Merc dealer that I get parts from. And supposedly he is one of the cheapest in the country.
Wow..when I was talking about repowering my old Stoker I was told in the 10-15k range. It has been a while though.
Shit, to get a factory rebuilt 2.4L POWERHEAD from Merc its over 8 grand!!
Wanted to do the same, but looked @ the prices & decided to rebuild my Johnrude. I am keeping my eye out for some used Yamahas though - most reliable / best running outboard IMO. Plus it would be pretty different to have a couple VMaxs hanging off an Eliminator.
Yep $23K is a pretty good price.
Give John at Ski and Race Marine a call and he will get you a better deal.
Let me know I will sell A 260 15" sportmaster alot cheaper than that....15 hours.
15k, got one a few months ago and couldn't be happier.
GODDAM! Where did you get that from? You sure its new? lol!
Damm, I just got a quote for $18900.00 installed and lake tested, what dealer or ? did you find one for $15k:hmm
I was working with Kevin @ KMG in San Diego, although I know the motor came from Dave over at DCB and yes, it is/was brand new. The fuel mileage is amazing.
Ive seen them on the net for 16 its tuff out there im sure if your serious you can get a deal!!!
23K are friggen kidding me!
Call JacoMarine and ask for Barbara and she will sell you any 300XS with what ever lower and gear ratio you want for $15,800. Plus, if your in the military she will give you a 10% discount on top of that.
Also TNT Custom Marine is a Mercury dealer so if your on the east coast he is the man to get outboards from and not retail either very competitive prices.
BRAND NEW stuff no fantasy wondering if it is new.
as of today 10/22/10
Jaco Marine, Barbara
$15,995.00 + $400.00 Shipping = $16,395.00 to a Merc Cettified Dealer that will charge another $1000.00. for installation.
so a total of 17,395k OTD
Pro Marine in Pomona is $18,900.00 OTD
DCB Dave $18,900 not installed
They all seem to be about 18-19k
Nobody is down to $15k so that motor was a screeming deal !!!
I don't know how your doing your calculation or what your trying to say.
There was a quote for 23K for a motor by TCHB! That is way to high!
Calculations for parts usually do not include labor.
Jaco is 16,000 if not in military and 400 for shipping is 16,400 for the motor to your door. This is less than the $18,900 you were quoted even if you add a $1,000 for labor it is still $17,400 a difference of $1,500 which is a big savings.
Fltplan said 15k but did not indicate his source or where he obtained the motor from or if was new... or slightly used!
Carry on...moral is each person needs to do their homework or they pay retail.
Opp's sorry about that I have so many numbers written all over this pc of paper in front of me, I made the corrections, you are right, Jaco "Barbara" is the lowest cost so far.
Feel free to give me a call. I will be glad to sell you a motor for less than all the above prices. No joke. Thanks Drew @ Boatmasters 925-443-5775.
Yep, mine was brand spankin new, from KMG, who sourced it from Dave at DCB. Thought I mentioned that already. FLTPLAN.
