What does one of these motors cost new?
More like in the 23 to 25k range. It was right at 23k last year when I asked a Merc dealer that I get parts from. And supposedly he is one of the cheapest in the country.
Thanks for the input.
I guess I will waste
Space on my own thread
So that I can get to 10 posts
Sorry just didnt want to add useless post on other peoples threads....
Wow..when I was talking about repowering my old Stoker I was told in the 10-15k range. It has been a while though.

23K are friggen kidding me!
Call JacoMarine and ask for Barbara and she will sell you any 300XS with what ever lower and gear ratio you want for $15,800. Plus, if your in the military she will give you a 10% discount on top of that.
Also TNT Custom Marine is a Mercury dealer so if your on the east coast he is the man to get outboards from and not retail either very competitive prices.
BRAND NEW stuff no fantasy wondering if it is new.

as of today 10/22/10
Jaco Marine, Barbara
$15,995.00 + $400.00 Shipping = $16,995.00 to a Merc Cettified Dealer that will charge another $1000.00. for installation.
so a total of 18k OTD
Pro Marine in Pomona is $18,900.00 OTD
DCB Dave $18,900 not installed
They all seem to be about 18-19k
Nobody is down to $15k so that motor was a screeming deal !!!

I don't know how your doing your calculation or what your trying to say.
There was a quote for 23K for a motor by TCHB! That is way to high!
Calculations for parts usually do not include labor.
Jaco is 16,000 if not in military and 400 for shipping is 16,400 for the motor to your door. This is less than the $18,900 you were quoted even if you add a $1,000 for labor it is still $17,400 a difference of $1,500 which is a big savings.
Fltplan said 15k but did not indicate his source or where he obtained the motor from or if was new... or slightly used!
Carry on...moral is each person needs to do their homework or they pay retail.
