Just got a new set of BFG KM3 tires.. 30/10/14.. Huge gap on my beadlock.. I know the side wall is thick but has anyone else experienced this?
Yea but you took them to a flea market, with seven crackheads and two street walkers to have them mounted.I had to have mine mounted three times before they held air as they should
They need pulled off, and the bead looks old as tho it needs set back into the groove. Are all 4 wheels the same gap, as well is the same gap around the entire wheel or does the gap fluctuate some?
LOF should be along soon and tell us all how to do itThey hold air. Tire shop dunked them and no leaks. Just seems odd
Didn't it take you 3 times to get them mounted right? Maybe you can tell us all how not to do it.LOF should be along soon and tell us all how to do it
These tires suck! I’ve torn two alreadyFYI these tires are very impressive. I’m a fan.
I told them to put some sealant around the beads and torque the bolts to 20 ft lbs. They weren’t flat this morning so I’ll take that
The thicker bead on the BFG seems to be a known issue. This is certainly something you will encounter with STI wheels. OP has STI wheels and so do I.

What PSI do you run? These tires suck! I’ve torn two already

Both tires have sidewall damage. I’m considering going back to stock. Those never gave me any issues at all.F my life.
Sidewall?
I literally had 0 problems with my Maxxis Libertys for 3K plus miles. I finally got a small stick through them about 100 miles ago, plugged it and ran 100 miles before pulling them off for these.

Sticky tires that you don't need to aitr down a ton to ride good but i won't run them as i have seen too many sidewall punctures or cuts. (pretty sure 4 wheel parts voided my dads tire care package after 3 ruined tires)
Maybe they work better on a sxs due to the weight but on a full size rig i think toyo/nitto are impossible to beat.
Last I heard BFG support team recommends 18-22 for that tire in BajaThe max recommended tire pressure for most modern performance SXS desert tires is 18 PSI. Most recreational cars ride like crap in the desert at that pressure.
Some people still like to run LT tires. They are more durable but ride rougher and are much heavier, like 10 lbs a tire at least.
The sweet spot for most of us is 13-15 PSI cold, depending on the tire and setup.
Some people are harder on tires than others. Sometimes it is just bad luck.
