New boat

Just picked up this Patterson Cracker Box today. A life long dream has finally come true for me. Im now a third generation Cracker owner in my family.

Your going to need an oar or two. It's a rowboat at the moment. Namba can operate the manual bilge pump. I'm sure it'll be a blast, bring plenty of beer and make sure to video everything. We need entertainment.

What type of speed would that boat run with say..... 500 hp or so? I’ve seen them race. But never just cruising around.

I'd think the 275 inch engines put out well over 500 hp by todays engine builders. Kilo record is somewhere around 105 I think.

just toss in one of them fancy Chevy SB2.2 small blocks in there. That should have no issues turning the RPMs needed.

I got to take a ride in a Cracker a few years ago @ a dragboat race and was told the race motors make +700hp and run in the mid to upper 90’s in the race course chop. It’s basically the same motor that nascar runs.
