Had our resident expert from RDP do the bunks on my friend's Campbell trailer.... Nice work and door to ramp to door service.

Mine will be done asap after seeing his work.

Thanks again Trailer Bunk Repair....

Yeah... it's all about what Campbell Carl said. My schooling is actually in aeronautical engineering, but hydrodynamics cross over pretty easy.

Little tweaks here and there give you a little more speed.

Never wax the bottom of your boat...

Match and Polish exhaust ports to a mirror...

Match the intake ports but leave them rough...

Jump a fat girl every now and then to just show them you are a good guy.

is there an advantage to having your bunks run past the bottom of the hull?

I'm guessing on this, but think its probably valid.... Avoiding getting a hook in the hull.

With good quality boats like Campbells, Spectras, Hallets etc. I doubt it would be a problem, but carrying the bunks past the transom distributes the weight better.

I remember cheap boats on rollers back in the day that had dents in the hull from the weight of the boat on a small point. The more surface area covered the better.

Looking at the axis of the rudder on the Campbell.... it is just forward of the transom. Trailer is built to extend aft of the transom to protect the v-drive... lower part of the cage, around the v-drive, with the roller at the bottom. Bunks, etc. have to be beyond the transom to tie it all together to carry the weight of the boat and protect the running gear.
