So every year I try to do some type of upgrade to the boat. I'm running out of time so this year I think it's going to be upgrading the gauges as a set and making the switch to a gps speedo. I'm getting a quote from the folks at Livorsi. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on this process or anything I should consider while doing this?

I did this last year, but went with Auto Meter because they used the same sensors (except for the temp) and wired the same as my old gaffrigs.

That I'm too cheap to pay for Livorsi's [emoji13]

I have read somewhere that Autometers and Livorsi's are actually the same gauges?

I've always run Autometer ProComp's in my boats.. but a lot of my friends prefer the look of the Livorsi's. Can't go wrong with either.

TCM offers Livorsi's call Eric and tell him you are an RDP member and they usually knock 10% off or so. http://teaguecustommarine.com/em0011/gauges.html

Dana Marine sells Autometers, Call Bob Jeanblanc and tell him you are an RDP guy and he'll charge ya an extra 20%.. :D I'm joking, I'm not sure what specials he is offering but he has always hooked my buddies up deep.

They both sell bezels, senders, sensors and related items.

I was working with Livorsi direct and was going with them because that's what's currently there.

I'd check pricing with TCM, sometimes dealers will actually cut better prices then the factories! (just an FYI). Overall though the guys at Livorsi are all pretty good guys from my limited experience so I can't imagine you'd go wrong either way.

Personally I like the auto meters the best but that's probably because I'm an old drag racer. Those look great

I redid the gauges in both my boat one last year and the other this year. I went with Livorsi because I liked the look of them. Here's a pic

I believe OD1 said before that livorsi senders are the same as gaffrigs. The auto meters require new senders. Kinda offsets the cost savings of the autometers

Thanks for all the kind words. At Livorsi we have many different styles to choose from. All our gauges are made in house in the USA. Go to www.livorsi.com and mention you saw this on River Daves (Gauge This) and we will give you a 10% discount.

Best Regards ML

Are those chrome rings and a white face gauges. Or chrome face gauges. Also where did you get the plate on the right where the switches are. I have the same set up with my 25' Eagle.

The gauges are the platinum face/chrome rim. The bezels and switch plate are the original purple ones. I just dropped them
In a bucket of laquer thinner and the anodizing falls off. They're polished aluminum underneath. I just re-polished them to touch them up.

Nice meeting you up at needles Bobby[emoji4]

Can I do the same with the grab handles and vents on the back of the boat and bezels for the rail.

Nice to meet you also.

I also did the cleats and engine hatch hinges. If I could get the damn steering wheel adapter off, it would be done also [emoji35]

Everything that was either white, or anodized, was polished aluminum or polished stainless underneath. I just touched them up with my bench grinder and a polishing wheel.

That looks great. Cheap fix to updating the boat. I will hit you up with more questions after my snowbird leaves and I can get to the boat.

A steering wheel puller will do the trick

I did the gauge switch on my boat, and went with Livorsi's. I used Eric and Teague and he was great to work with. My only issue is the fuel senders don't work with the new gauges, so i'll be replacing those also. Everything else worked great.

I tried every kind of puller I have [emoji20]. Sprayed it with liquid wrench, tried beating on it, impact wrench on the puller bolt.. Won't even budge [emoji35] the real problem was I couldn't get a puller that really fit right.. Then I lost interest [emoji4]

I like what you did. Classic looking. If you have a picture of the entire new dash that would be cool to see

Both the Am and livorsi's look good. I go back and forth. I like the carbon fiber look but can't decide whether or not I would want it for my own boat. The chrome ring looks the best to me, on both Am and livorsi

I did the swap on my Hallett a few years ago... I liked the carbon fiber look, but was concerned they might look dated 5-10 years down the road?

Before... these must have been the original gauges from 1988...

IMG_0262.jpg

After... went with AutoMeters...

So Mike, will I have the same fuel sender issues with my 2005 Rage?
