Im sure a bunch of you guys saw this on Facebook, pretty cool idea and engineering. It’s basically an SC lower with 2 vertical shafts and 2 sets of gears like a #6 Drive. It has held up well on this big power Cig. Since it uses the SC lower gears, the case is smaller and more hydrodynamic than the SCX lower. I think these are prototypes and it’s not fully in production yet.

Wonder how it’ll work and ultimately run. I still ponder why the X Drive the Bill Auberlen and BMW did never really took off! I’ve seen him straight hammer that drive with those monster PSI blowers and just pull like a sob

I friend of mine here in FL has another 32 Spectre with XPower drives running about 750-800hp. Says the drives are beasts, he loves them. Says Bill stands behind them 100% and had great customer service. I think they didn’t take off because they’re a small company, probably fear of them going under or not being able to get parts. Also last I heard they were $35k

The 6 drive itself I think is in the $30k ballpark. But you have the gimble and transmission etc.

Either way I don’t think this drive is meant to compete with a #6, they’re two different applications.

Yea i actually think it’s a little more. A buddy was looking into them as in his 33’ Daytona it was set up as Bravo style drives then he later built much bigger motors 900 one pulley and 1300 with other (572” 14/71 motors) but the amount wasn’t just too much! But it did get us a ride in that Spectre pulls like crazy too

I think they should take the money from one of their sales and update their webpage

Them drives are expensive. We've been working on a 48 Fountain with triple 700s and #6 drives at the shop. The parts bill on the boat is already in the 6 figure range not including labor. And that's just for repair of the stbd power package and only service items for the other two.

These are interesting. I had heard that B-Max was working on a similar lower last year. Hope this makes the lower units more reliable.

Same thing that Seven Marine did a long time ago right? Two shafts and double bevel gears? Who did it first? LOL!

Austin, TX on Lake Travis
I guess you could say it's Texas' version of Lake Havasu. Lots of go fast boats and yachts too.

I've personally been fortunate enough to have worked on the red Fountain from the movie Machete 2 as well as the directors Formula 48 yacht. and the powder blue Donzi ZR from Miami Vice.

I still miss Havasu though
