There is no fast lane bozo. It’s a passing lane. I don’t care if your going Mach 2. Get your ass in the right after you pass
There is a problem with the left lane in a lot of places. Just came back from Vegas and the 95 can take the steering wheel out of your hand in some places. The 40 is bad too Between Yucca and Kingman blows. Not looking forward to it now. Heading to needles at 4:30.

You're right, there is no fast lane bozo. There was a clown named Bozo 😁

You can call it "the fast lane" or "a passing lane" but we all know it's the number 1 lane 😁

And if no one is driving up my bumper I'll stay in that lane until I don't

See anytime I see someone in the left lane by themselves then I know they don’t know what they are doing. Move to the right in the future.

Thanks for the "tips" about the white lines and signs about aircraft enforcement. Stevie Wonder knows about them too.

I've used Valentine One (V1) radar/laser detectors for years. And they've saved me from tickets and higher insurance many times. One of the best investments if you driver over the limit.

I know all about aircraft enforcement - I got popped by aircraft twice - once on the 101 up near King City (you may know about that place's reputation for being a speed trap- https://www.speedtrap.org/california/king-city/) and of all places, on Beach Boulevard by the HBPD chopper. Beat the ticket because I fought it and both LEOs didn't come to court.
Beach Blvd in HB by a police helicopter, really? What was your speed?

You're talking about 25% of Californians in the "passing lane." But we know more than 50% of Californians don't know what they're doing.

And thanks for the tip about keeping right. You'll never find me blocking anyone.

I don't recall the exact speed but it was less than 60MPH - I didn't think it was fast for Beach Blvd. but the HBPD apparently did

i just made the drive from Barstow to the river. Got two separate hits of KA band. Both times CHP was there.

My V1 is like a CHP detector - I wouldn't want to drive any longer distances without it (never use it in LA or OC). When Ka band goes off it's almost always 1 or more CHPs on the freeway. Sometimes it's 2 or even 3 and the V1 tells me how many different signals. The thing is worth every dollar it costs - it's saved me numerous times as I drive 1-MPH over

New light / siren / radar interface in the cars, nothing new with the units themselves.

They are moving the radar devices outside the cabs to reduce radar exposure to the officers.

Perhaps I should have rephrased that title...and perhaps many missed the actual post.

I'll put it this way,

Word has it there is a NEW system the CHP are using that no marketed detectors catch.

Pilot program with Paso Robles PD and the CHP are running...they share jurisdiction of HWY 46 since they blend.

I've started seeing "chips"...Motor cycle CHP's in my area...been here 32 years and never seen one till recently.

Got rolled by Ponch last week on a county highway...my 995 didn't get a Ka or Laser...made some calls and apparently
they have a new system.

I asked Ponch, "radar"? he said no. I said "laser"? he said "ya". I said, "not on my detection...you have the new device don't you?"
He frouned and wrote me up.

So??? What is it?

Not worried about the ticket...I'm a Republican...I can afford it. Just pissed I don't know what the new system is...possibly photo tech??

I have an ancient Escort Solo 2, and on the highway it alerts on Ka band a half mile out or better. In the city, it always provides ample warning. All of the departments around North Texas and DPS troopers statewide use Ka radar. Although I routinely drive over the speed.limit, I haven't been pulled over in decades.

With the 70 and 75 MPH speed limit on Texas interstates, most troopers won't stop a vehicle unless it's in the 90s. I usually roll at 85 or 90 on interstates in good condition with light traffic. Around Plano, McKinney, Allen, and Frisco, the speed limit on highways is 70, so there's not much to be gained by going faster than that.

My driving style is both hands on the wheel, the stereo at low volumes, and a continuous scan of traffic ahead and in the mirrors. I'm.always aware of the position of cars near me, and because of that I know I can quickly change lanes without looking if something occurs in front of me. I actually pay attention to what I'm doing.

Driving in West Texas allows speeds around 100 MPH when traffic is sporadic. I'll run that speed when alone on the road, and when I approach other vehicles, I'll slow down to 80 or so to pass them.

I use caution when coming up on pairs of 18 wheelers, because the driving school graduates behind the wheel enjoy whipping out into the left lane as you approach, and then perform the 58/59 MPH rolling roadblock.

It used to be that truck drivers were professionals, and they would act courteously and safely as you interacted with them. Now the trucks are operated by a bunch of sixty day CDL school dipshits that don't have a fucking clue how to drive.
