Used to be all the smaller outboards were the same.. I don’t believe they have shared the tohatsu design in sometime.

Advancements in technology my ass. An ss or f1 two stroke weighed 7 more pounds than this pig and put out 140 and 220 more horsepower respectively. This should not be wearing an r moniker. The tohatsu ia lighter than this thing but that may be because the tohatsu is spinning a plastic prop.lol.

What would be considered a technical skiff?

I've got a 13 foot Dux boat tunnel inflatable cat running a 55 hp 3 cylinder Merc 2-stroke, spins a 13" 28 pitch lab finished surface drive cleaver... And while it takes awhile to get outta the hole, once it hooks it rips.....

Weighs about the same as that 60 does..

like a flats boat

Haha - I call that a fishing boat !

I was thinking they meant some specialty boat made for oil rigs or engineering or mapping bottoms or something...

You know - something technical!
